What is the opportunity?
We are looking for a Private Banker with entrepreneurial drive to join our dynamic and growing team. You will be responsible for establishing new relationships within your target market and for the growth of existing high net worth clients using a personalized and confidential approach to execute integrated wealth management advice and planning, sophisticated credit solutions, complex banking, and cash management solutions. As Canada's Top Private Bank, we excel in providing service over and above any other private bank.

What will you do?
  • Lead with a growth mindset, focusing on what's possible to ensure profitable growth through new household acquisition and delivering an exceptional and personal client experience
  • Introduce your Client Relationship Team: the Private Banking Advisor and Associate teams as key advisors on managing day-to-day banking needs and the Credit Structures team as key specialists for credit advice and solutions; support the teams by leading and reinforcing a team approach to deliver on client needs
  • Establish an individual plan towards achieving performance targets for revenue growth, acquiring new qualifying households, while executing client discovery activities that reflect the expertise, skill sets, and professionalism expected of your role and position
  • A self-starter, you work independently to leverage your network (internal and external) to build a portfolio of clients and pipeline of prospects, while working with your team to maintain a quality client portfolio, conducting frequent reviews of the portfolio to identify new business and generate strong revenue streams
  • Proactive in developing and structuring end-to-end solutions to address client needs by effectively applying your knowledge and understanding of financial planning principles partnering closely with RBC investment and wealth planning professionals
  • Assess and execute credit strategies as part of an integrated approach to financial planning
  • Take ownership of client problem resolution, sourcing answers and leveraging expertise across RBC
  • You ensure your skill sets and accreditation are updated, and keep abreast of information and developments in our industry to meet client advice needs and role requirements while adhering strictly to policies and procedures


What do you need to succeed?
Must-have

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in client relationship management (personal and/or business) where you provided advice and solutions to clients
  • Understanding of credit and financial planning fundamentals
  • Proven track record in relationship sales, business development, and effective relationship management in a team environment
  • Ability to work independently to problem solve, resolve complex issues and sensitive situations
  • Investment Funds in Canada (IFC), or obligation to obtain within 3 months of starting
  • Financial Planner diploma issued by the IQPF, or obligation to obtain within 18 months of starting
  • Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly serve our clients with English and French-speaking needs.


Nice-to-have
  • Commercial or corporate banking experience
  • Previous experience in a direct financial planning role
  • People management experience
  • Designations such as MBA, CFA, CPA, FEA, etc.
