OverviewThe Private Banker is responsible for the delivery of an exceptional client experience that provides personalized financial guidance and expertise to existing and prospective Private Banking clients. By definition, a Private Banking client is required to maintain total deposit balances of $250,000 or more in qualified accounts at Old National. Qualified accounts include personal and business deposit accounts (checking, savings, money market and time deposits), investments and trust assets held at Old National with the same "Owner(s)" as the Private Banking checking account. Business deposits qualify if client is a 25% owner of the business and tracked as a beneficial owner on the account. An alternative pathway to receive Private Banking benefits/services is through Old National’s Private Prestige program, a step-up program which is designed for emerging professionals in certain qualifying professions and who are within the first 10 years of starting their career. Clients in this program have 10 years from the account opening date to qualify for Private Elite status.
The Private Banker is the primary driver of sales for all Private Banking deposit and lending products, a key connector to internal business partners that provide clients with access to specialized financial needs (Wealth/Mortgage/Commercial), and a demonstrated industry expert that can build and retain a relationship portfolio.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $62,300/yr - $122,400/yr plus bonus. The base salary indicated for this position reflects the compensation range applicable to all levels of the role across the United States. Actual salary offers within this range may vary based on a number of factors, including the specific responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s relevant skills and professional experience, educational qualifications, and geographic location.
Key Accountabilities
Quarterback for the Private Banking Relationship:
- Conduct initial needs assessment for customer and engage appropriate ONB business partners according to identified needs.
- Working collaboratively with an ONB Wealth Advisor as a team, effectively manage and deepen client relationships within portfolio. This includes but is not limited to providing a superior level of client service, conducting regular meetings and calls with clients to review pertinent financial information, engaging product partners/specialist in client meetings and product delivery, and continuing to understand and provide solutions designed to meet the best interests of the client as their needs change and evolve.
- Work with appropriate support team to monitor and execute all tasks required to fulfill customer’s service plan/objectives and meet day-to-day inquiries from the client.
New Business Development (Self-Sourcing):
- Prospect and self-source new client opportunities through all available means including internal and external client referrals, networking, reviews of existing books and expanded relationship opportunities, calling efforts, client entertainment, participation in organizations or associations where high/ultra-high net worth customers can be identified, etc.
- Actively identify and refer business opportunities to internal business units where appropriate including Wealth, Community, Mortgage, Treasury Management and Commercial Banking. Strong working knowledge of these lines of business is required in order to provide confident responses & direction to customers.
Product Knowledge (ONB and subject matter area of expertise):
- Maintain up-to-date advanced knowledge of Private Banking product offerings and processes, changing legislation, and current industry trends and practices and utilizing those as a part of the relationship management process.
- Identify, focus and engage in a subject matter area of expertise that provides unique exposure to specific areas of industry. Leverage this exposure to gain access and opportunity for new business development and creation of centers of influence.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 1-3 years’ experience with a financial institution focusing on client service and sales, preferably in the affluent/high net-worth segment, strongly desired
- Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and financial/banking industry knowledge, superior client service, and the ability to interact with clients and associates at all levels.
- NMLS registered or ability to obtain NMLS registration
- Financial Planning background preferred, but not required
- Bachelor’s Degree Required

- Customer Identification and Acquisition - Proactively screening (self-sourcing) and identifies prospects for Private Banking through self-sourcing and leveraging of customer information and converts those prospects into Private Banking customers.
- Strong Internal Collaboration and Relationships - Establishes a strong collaborative relationship with other LOB partners to generate internal referral opportunities and acquire and deepen customer relationships.
- Subject Matter Expertise - Acquire increased knowledge and experience in a particular industry (SME) in order to become “top of mind” in that industry, leverage external relationships and profile, and deliver an enhanced value add to customers.
