Overview

We9re looking for Principal User Experience Designer, to join our design team within Autodesk Construction Solutions. Reporting to the Manager, Experience Design, you will work on our next-generation cloud solutions, helping to deliver the best product experiences for our customers who build the world around us.

This role will focus on the construction sheets experience in Forma Data Management for our construction end users. Sheets in ACS are the central place for construction teams to publish, organize, view, and collaborate on 2D project drawings throughout the project lifecycle. They help field and office teams stay aligned on the latest plans, navigate drawing sets, and connect design information to downstream construction workflows. Given our pace and team org, this role will require flexibility across the team and strategic initiatives as new needs arise. Through your design work, you will impact large scale global construction solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Constructing conceptual diagrams, task flows, storyboards, wireframes, prototypes and other design deliverables to help us define product direction
  • Leading collaborative sessions with customers and development partners to explore new design concepts, validate existing designs, and drive continuous improvements
  • Running customer research activities during the planning, strategy development, and early design of solutions
  • Leading design-thinking exercises to help build shared understanding and collaboratively solve complex design challenges
  • Working with development leads to help inform the design of the APIs that drive our user experiences
  • Helping promote continuous improvement of UX tools and processes, and scalable experience design standards
  • Partnering with cross-functional Scrum teams to support and review the implementation of great experiences in our developed product.
  • Mentoring junior designers as a senior member of a growing design team


Minimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years of related experience
  • Depth across a wide range of design tools and methods
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and engage stakeholders and cross-functional partners early and throughout the design process.
  • Demonstrated previous projects designing for mobile, tablet, web.
  • Comfort using AI in designing + prototyping
  • Experience influencing product roadmap direction, aligning cross-functional stakeholders, and shaping strategy through strong design thinking and customer insight.
  • Show of systems thinking in design process and output
  • Previous experience mentoring and leading strategically on design initiatives
  • Outstanding communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in large, distributed, enterprise organizations
  • Experience in construction, manufacturing or similar sectors
  • Experience applying UX within Agile development environments
  • Experience working with 2D/3D graphics and/or Autodesk products
  • Experience and interest in leading, mentoring, and elevating other designers through feedback, collaboration, and design direction.
