As aPrincipalSystems Engineer in Cardiac Ablation Solutions, you will refine your systems engineering skills to conduct interface testing, both within the system and during commercial support, as well as integrating the system into Electrophysiologycathlab hospital environments.


The Cardiac Ablation Solutions Unit develops life-restoring therapies and healthcare solutions that span the care continuum; integrating technologies and applying clinical and economic evidence to increase patient access, improve efficiency of procedures and deliver successful patient outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Participate on cross-functional development teams in the creation of integration, characterization, and troubleshooting testing, training, and guidance documents.

  • Developexpertisein the application of systems engineering principles andidentifyopportunities for applying systems engineering within work assigned to the team.

  • Support marketing, field engineering, technical services, and training and education in technical questions.

  • Propose and implement changes to improve systems and/or processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree anda minimum of7years of relevant experience

  • ORMaster9;switha minimum of5years of relevant experience

  • OR PhD with3years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced understanding of Electrophysiology and comfort in the hospital environment

  • Experience in Systems Engineering including defining systems architecture within medical device product development

  • Experience with the application of Design Controls for medical devices

  • Demonstrated ability to create strategies and influence cross-functionally

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$134,400.00 - $201,600.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered ratecomplies withfederal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits informationpertainssolely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance,Health Savings Account,Healthcare Flexible Spending Account,Life insurance, Long-term disability leave,Dependent daycare spending account,Tuition assistance/reimbursement, andSimple Steps (global well-being program).
