What You'll Do
As a Workday Product Owner, you will be responsible for the strategic direction, roadmap, and overall success of the Workday platform. You will partner with business stakeholders, development teams, and cross-functional partners to ensure Workday solutions align with organizational objectives and deliver maximum business value.
In this role, you will support the optimization and enhancement of Workday capabilities across payroll, international payroll, benefits, compensation, and related Human Capital Management (HCM) functions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for the Workday platform aligned with business goals and objectives.
- Create, maintain, and manage the Workday product roadmap, ensuring it reflects evolving business needs and strategic priorities.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and prioritize requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and discussions to translate business needs into actionable product features and functional specifications.
- Develop and document business processes, workflows, and system requirements.
- Partner with developers and IT support teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues impacting business operations.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to address integration-related issues and implement system enhancements.
- Maintain and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring it remains organized, current, and aligned with stakeholder priorities.
- Write clear user stories and acceptance criteria and provide ongoing guidance to development teams throughout the Agile lifecycle.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and other Agile ceremonies.
- Make informed decisions regarding feature scope, prioritization, and trade-offs to maximize business value.
- Coordinate testing activities to ensure Workday enhancements meet business requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Conduct system testing, identify defects, and recommend solutions and process improvements.
- Monitor product performance, user feedback, and industry trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Provide ongoing support to end users by addressing questions, troubleshooting issues, and recommending enhancements.
What You'll Need
- 7+ years of experience as a Product Owner or in a related technology role.
- Proven experience supporting Workday Payroll, International Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, and related Workday HCM functions.
- Strong knowledge of Workday HCM and Payroll modules and their related capabilities.
- Experience translating business requirements into functional specifications and system solutions.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Experience managing product roadmaps, backlogs, user stories, and acceptance criteria to support Agile delivery.
- Experience using Jira Align and Jira Cloud for Agile planning, backlog tracking, dependency management, and delivery execution.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Preferred experience with Workday Extend application development and delivery.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to provide responsive and effective support.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
What You'll Bring
- Workday certification(s).
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization within Workday environments.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise Workday implementations and enhancements.
