The Principal Strategic Planning Analyst serves as a technical analytics resource supporting strategic planning and decision-making. The role acquires, integrates, validates, models, and maintains claims, demographic, state, and other key datasets while ensuring data integrity. Partners with the Sr. BI Developer and cross-functional teams to develop dashboards, reporting solutions, data models, analytical tools, and automated processes. Education 3 Required - Bachelor's in computer science, management information systems (MIS), business, data analytics, or related field. 3 Preferred - Master's in Health Administration (MHA), business administration (MBA), data analytics (MSDA), or related field. Work Experience 3 Required - 5 years of progressive experience in a business intelligence (BI) role. or 3 Required - 3 years of progressive experience in a BI role with a master's degree in computer science or related field. and 3 Required - 3 years experience in coding (SQL, Python), AI/ML (PyTorch, TensorFlow), and data warehouse management (Snowflake, Databricks, etc.) and 3 Preferred - 3 years experience as a business analyst, using SQL for daily tasks, creating reports and visualization using OBIEE, Tableau, Crystal. and 3 Preferred - 3 years experience working in healthcare. 3 Preferred - 1 year in data analytics, claims analytics, and enterprise project management, or oncology data analytics Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) 3 Advanced knowledge of database structures, data management, data integration, and business intelligence principles. 3 Strong proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts. 3 Experience with Power BI, Sigma, Tableau, or similar reporting and visualization platforms. 3 Experience with Python, R, or other analytical programming languages preferred. 3 Knowledge of data extraction, transformation, automation, and workflow optimization techniques. 3 Understanding of data warehouse concepts, data governance practices, and data quality management. 3 Ability to independently troubleshoot data issues, reporting discrepancies, and system integration challenges. 3 Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and documentation. 3 Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills. 3 Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams. 3 Experience working with healthcare claims data, demographic data, market intelligence platforms, and operational datasets preferred. Job Duties 3 Partners with the Strategic Planning Analytics and Insights team and leadership to define data, reporting, modeling, and technical analytics requirements. 3 Collaborates with the Sr. BI Developer and enterprise analytics teams to develop and maintain reporting, dashboards, and analytical solutions supporting strategic planning initiatives. 3 Acquires, integrates, and maintains data from multiple sources, including claims, demographics, provider, region, and service line datasets. 3 Develops complex datasets, reporting tables, data models, and analytical files used for service line, region, and growth analyses. 3 Performs data quality reviews, validation processes, and exception monitoring to ensure the accuracy and reliability of analytical outputs. 3 Documents data sources, business rules, methodologies, calculations, and reporting processes in accordance with departmental standards. 3 Monitors production reporting processes and data refresh schedules; investigates and resolves data or reporting issues and escalates as appropriate. 3 Supports forecasting, demand modeling, utilization modeling, and other analytical methodologies through data preparation and model maintenance. 3 Assists in the evaluation, implementation, and optimization of analytics tools, databases, and reporting technologies used by the Strategic Planning Analytics team. 3 Provides technical support and subject matter expertise regarding strategic planning data assets, reporting tools, and analytical processes. 3 Maintains current knowledge of healthcare data, analytics technologies, business intelligence tools, and industry best practices. 3 Performs other duties as assigned 3 Complies with all policies and standards The above statements describe the general nature and level of work only.
