Full Job Description
Responsibilities

  • Lead a major Frontier Security Engineering sub-organization (multiple engineering teams and managers across customer tracks such as Perception), owning delivery, talent, and technical strategy at scale.
  • Setting the bar for how Microsoft's most advanced security capabilities reach customers and flow back into the product.
  • Own the strategy, execution, and outcomes for a multi-team FSE organization spanning several frontier security tracks and a portfolio of strategic customers.
  • Build and lead a team of engineering managers and principal engineers; own hiring, leveling, succession, and a high-trust, inclusive culture.
  • Be accountable for engagement quality end-to-end (Phases 0-3) and for the engineering signal - defects, tuning gaps, missing guardrails, RBAC/governance gaps - flowing back into product ROBs.
  • Partner at the executive level with MSEC product leaders, the CoE, Account/Field leadership, and customer CISOs.
  • Drive the operating model's scale: move from 1:1 customer mapping toward a repeatable, generalized "superhighway" across the org

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of software engineering experience
  • 6+ years managing managers/leaders.
  • Track record leading large engineering orgs that ship in production security, cloud, or AI domains.
  • Demonstrated executive stakeholder management and customer-facing engineering leadership


Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
