Job Description:Parsons is now hiring a
Principal Roadway Engineer to join our St Louis team! What You'll Be Doing:Scope
- Developing the scope of engineering work, schedules, and budgets for the assigned roadway project elements, and monitoring progress to meet schedule and budget requirements / Identifying and documenting changes in scope
- Determining the scope of procurement work, schedules, and budgets for technical aspects of the contract and monitors progress
- Interfacing with Procurement and Subcontracts to facilitate procurement coordination with vendors/subcontractors
- Participating in bid analysis to help determine supplier availability and capability
Management
- Reviewing work produced to ensure that applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed and that quality is acceptable
- Monitoring productivity and technical proficiency of assigned technical personnel, and making reassignments as project needs arise / Conducting performance evaluations, taking corrective action as necessary, and recommending salary action / Providing training and development opportunities for assigned personnel
- Coordinating the utilization of interdisciplinary technical personnel on the project, as well as the assignment of personnel from other technical support groups within the company
- Assist the Project Manager in planning, directing, supervising, and controlling the execution of technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the project or study / Participate in determining the technical skills and staff hours required for successful completion of the project
- Ensure client criteria and scope are met by all engineering disciplines
- Expedite distribution of action items following discussions/meetings with the client and Project Manager / Act as Project Manager's deputy for certain activities, such as attending meetings in his/her absence, etc.
Technical
- Understand the client's business goals in order to enhance the project work
- Prepare technical reports and documentation of activity for the client and project management
- Obtain, analyze, and circulate technical and contractual information to project disciplines
- Review and approve change orders / Notify project management and other affected personnel of all changes
- Participate regularly in decision-making meetings with the client and project management
- May manage a subtask of a significantly large and complex project or study in accordance with contractual obligations
What Skills/Qualifications You'll Bring:- 4-year degree in Civil or Roadway Engineering (or related field)
- 10+ years of related field engineering experience, a broad general engineering background
- PE registration
- Relevant experience in project engineering for State DOT work
- Proven ability to perform in a supervisory capacity in a project engineering role
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations
- Thorough knowledge of current technology and ability to select and apply appropriate engineering software for project use or project use

Salary Range: $103,500.00 - $181,100.00
