Northrop Grumman Defense Systems currently has an opening for a Principal Project Change Engineer. This position is located in Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL and will support the Sentinel program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

- The ideal candidate is a team player; but also, a strong independent contributor with strong leadership skills, demonstrated problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, as well as interpersonal and organizational skills and a proactive, detail-oriented approach.

- Lead change-management activities, coordinating with engineering stakeholders to develop, review, and approve change packages.

- Conduct technical impact assessments and devise implementation strategies for engineering changes.

- Create and maintain detailed bills of material, part codes, and routing instructions based on engineering drawings and specifications.

- Develop and manage schedules for change-package development, approval, and implementation to meet mission timelines.

- Liaise with Configuration Management to validate change paths and ensure compliance with configuration baselines.

- Align demand forecasts with manufacturing and supplier capacities to guarantee timely fulfillment of customer requirements.

- Produce and distribute status reports and briefings to program leadership, IPTs, and external customers.

- Collaborate with the Chief Engineer's office and Integrated Product Teams to capture impact data and drive successful change adoption.

- Support risk-reduction activities during the Technology Maturation phase by identifying potential technical issues and mitigation actions.

- Ensure documentation and records of change actions are maintained in accordance with DoD and company standards.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and5 years of relevant experience, OR a Master's degree and 3 years of relevant experience, OR a PhD and 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret Clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
  • Minimum 1 year of project-management experience and demonstrated knowledge of project-management fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in MS Office together with excellent technical writing, communication, and team-building skills.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.
  • Understanding of systems-engineering principles and processes.
  • Direct experience using the DOORS Requirements Management Database.
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts.
  • Subcontractor technical-oversight experience.

This position's standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $148,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
