Full Job Description
We9re looking for a Principal Product Manager to define how Kraken supports Vertically Integrated Utilities, both in North America and across the globe with a particular focus on embedding compliance readiness into the way our products and operating model scale. You9ll deeply understand our utility partners9 needs, regulatory obligations, and internal compliance requirements, using those insights to shape products, processes, and experiences that improve the customer experience for our clients while helping Kraken respond effectively to evolving compliance demands.

You9ll collaborate across sales, delivery, product and engineering teams to deliver client outcomes and business value, making Kraken the platform of choice for Vertically Integrated Utilities.

Your initial primary focus will be to shape how Kraken approaches Global Product Compliance, ensuring our platform evolves to meet global regulatory expectations in a standardized, consistent and auditable manner, while maintaining product agility and innovation.

You9ll balance deep customer understanding, product strategy, and regulatory considerations to help Kraken deliver innovative utility solutions at scale. While compliance is an important aspect of the role, success comes from applying strong product judgment to build products that are both customer-centric and adaptable to evolving market and regulatory needs.

What you9ll do:

  • Define and own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for assigned products within the Vertically Integrated product group.
  • Partner with utilities, client delivery, and internal product teams to identify key needs and prioritize impactful solutions.
  • Translate insights from real-world utilities into clear product outcomes and measurable success metrics.
  • Develop, prioritize, and execute your product roadmap, ensuring we deliver required outcomes, within the timelines agreed to, while also building a flexible experience within our core application.
  • Drive standard frameworks and strategy for compliance topics across various product teams, ensuring alignment without constraining team autonomy.
  • Translate complex regulatory requirements into clear product implications and client-facing narratives, supporting sales, delivery, and client trust.
  • Contribute to evolving internal compliance best practices and frameworks, helping teams navigate regulatory requirements through a product-led lens.
  • Work closely with engineering to build, test, and refine products.
  • Drive a best-in-class user experience
  • Drive standard frameworks and strategy for compliance topics across various product teams, ensuring alignment without constraining team autonomy.

  • Synthesize guidance from regulatory, legal, security, and external subject matter experts into actionable product strategy, enabling product teams and leadership to make informed decisions on complex compliance topics.
  • Represent the Global Product Organization internally and externally on Product Compliance Enablement


What you9ll have:

  • 7+ years of product management experience in enterprise software with experience in the utility industry
  • Ability to translate between regulatory, technical, and business perspectives, simplifying complex product and compliance concepts into actionable product decisions
  • You9re a systems thinker who can connect customer experience, data, and operational workflows into coherent, scalable products.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams, including engineering, UX and data science
  • You9re adaptable and thrive in a dynamic environment, whether working on a high-level product strategy or rolling up your sleeves to execute.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to define and track key success metrics.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management, balancing technical and business needs.
  • Comfort engaging with clients during sales, discovery, and delivery,
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influence skills, with a demonstrated ability to drive alignment and adoption across independent teams without direct authority, particularly on complex, cross-functional, or ambiguous topics.
  • Familiarity working with compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, SOC2, NIS2, GDPR) and collaborating with security, legal, or compliance stakeholders to translate requirements into product outcomes.
  • Experience helping establish scalable product practices, frameworks, or operating models across multiple teams.
  • Passion for customer experience, with a strong focus on usability, efficiency, and empathy.

  • The salary range for this senior position in NYC ranges on average from $160,000 - $215,000 depending on relevant experience, role alignment, and expertise demonstrated throughout the interview process. While the full salary range is listed, not all candidates will be placed at the top of the range-this will be determined by the overall fit for the position.
