Responsibilities

  • Perform root-cause analysis on operational problems and suggest corrective measures.
  • Create, deliver, and assess training programs for operational staff; keep training records up-to-date.
  • Review and refresh training content, lesson plans, and instructional materials for accuracy.
  • Aid in the planning and execution of quarterly mission exercises, providing expert knowledge during the process.
  • Assist in operational acceptance testing, including validating new hardware and software capabilities.
  • Review and enhance operational procedures and CONOPS documentation to meet mission demands.
  • Monitor satellite communications operations, troubleshoot issues, and liaise with engineering teams.
  • Support live operations as necessary to meet immediate mission needs.

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Space Operations Support Analyst to join our Front Range Operations and Sustainment Team (FROST) program, working on‑site at Schriever SFB near Colorado Springs, CO. This is a day shift position supporting the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) and Satellite Control Network (SCN). FROST provides real‑time on‑orbit support, launch ascent support, and End‑of‑Life operations for all NOPS missions.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Operations Investigations — Conduct root‑cause analysis of operational issues, document findings, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Operator Training Administration — Develop, deliver, and evaluate training programs for operations personnel; maintain training records and certification status.
  • Course Material Review & Updates — Review and update training content, lesson plans, and instructional materials to ensure accuracy.
  • Quarterly Exercise Support — Participate in planning, execution, and evaluation of quarterly mission exercises; provide console expertise and after‑action reporting.
  • Ops Acceptance & Integration — Support operational acceptance testing, including hardware and software integration; validate new capabilities against mission requirements.
  • Procedure & CONOPS Review — Review, update, and refine operational procedures and CONOPS documentation to align with evolving mission needs.
  • SATCOM Operations — Support satellite communications operations, monitor links, troubleshoot anomalies, and coordinate with engineering teams.
  • Operations Support — May be required to support live operations when mission needs arise.
  • Ability to work on‑site and support occasional off‑hours training events, exercises, and rehearsals.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience OR Masters with 3 years of experience or PhD with 1 year of experience OR 9 years of experience in lieu of degree.

  • Aligning training material with modernization and mission requirements.
  • Familiar with simulation/scenario development.
  • Top‑Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph at time of application.

Preferred Qualifications

  • experience with UNIX and Windows‑based systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to interface effectively with users, customers, management, and engineering personnel.
  • experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) for documentation and workflow management.
  • Air Force 1C6X1 career field—Space Systems Operations or other similar Military or civilian experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
