JOB DESCRIPTION:

Principal Operations Supervisor. This position will support the Structural Heart business and will be based in Caguas, Puerto Rico.

On-site position.

The Opportunity

This position willprovide supportto our Medical Devices/Structural Heart business. Our medical devices help more than10,000 peoplehave healthier hearts, improve quality of life for thousands of people living with chronic pain and movement disorders, and liberate more than500,000 peoplewith diabetes from routine 1ngersticks. Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of structural heart disease.

As the Principal Operations Supervisor you will manage, lead productions activities, manufacturing supervisors, team leaders, budget forecasting and focus on designing strategies to comply with business objectives. This is a first shift role.

What You27ll Do

  • Responsible for hiring and retaining a diverse, highly qualified staff and for providing career coaching, growth and personal development. Responsible for the development of staff: critiques, instructs, mentors, evaluates and coaches. Accountable for the performance of subordinates or the work output of managed subcontractors. Maintains a safe working environment and a strong customer focus. Models' optimum leadership competencies to inspire an energized, empowered and accountable work force, ethical behavior, favorable community image and actualization of the company Guiding Principles and management values.

  • Set expectations and objectives for assigned functional areas and direct reports and monitor progress to objectives. Manages (prioritize, coordinate, direct) the activities related to the deployment of production support engineering.

  • Develops/monitors/controls budgets for assigned areas and meet area financial objectives.

  • Determine and support training requirements to assure operational readiness of assigned work areas. Designs, defines and coordinates all required training for Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) compliance and employee development.

  • Cooperatively develops annual operational build and financial plans and over-achievement/ continuous improvement plans. Determines resources to meet project objectives and manage budgets.

  • Forecasts resource consumption based on forecasted activity (material/ labor standards, product mix/ absorption, project timing). Forecasts and report on area activity, performance and financial trends. Evaluates strategic capacity availability, plans and contingencies. Monitor/reduce Work-In-Process (WIP) inventory levels and ensure maintenance of strategic inventory integrity. Develops production plans and initiate activity to meet production demand requirements and strategic business needs.

  • Lead capital improvement projects and prepares capital expenditure justifications.

  • Conducts feasibility studies and develop project schedules. Provide vision, strategies and tactics to ensure sustainable competitive advantage of assigned areas.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor27s degree in administration or engineering.

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Production or related, supervisor.

  • Ability to effectively communicate cross functionally to assist with resolving Quality/Engineering issues.

  • Excellent written, verbal with resolving communication skills in both English and Spanish.

  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees.

  • Knowledge of common office applications: Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

  • Ability to evaluate and lead resolution of complex process issues.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working in a regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, biotechnology, or similar).

  • Lean certification preferred (Lean, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent continuous improvement certification).
