Job Description

WSP USA is seeking a Principal / Lead Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership and oversight on complex infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for delivering high-level design solutions and leading multidisciplinary teams within our movable bridge group.

This role can sit out of various WSP offices, including: Tampa, Miami, Sunrise, or Orlando

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and delivery of complex electrical systems across large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Responsible for single and three phase power distribution (low and medium voltage) and controls for project systems and subsystems design, calculations, construction support, and commissioning.
  • Serve as Engineer of Record and technical authority for electrical designs.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee preparation and review of design calculations, specifications, and reports.
  • Lead multidisciplinary coordination across internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Lead advance technical concepts in proposal development, preliminary design phases and presentations to clients.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Support business development, proposal preparation, and client relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in electrical engineering design, inspection and project leadership.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Excellence in analytical techniques in solving technical problems with a high degree of complexity.
  • Demonstrate the highest level of quality excellence in technical performance and assurance through innovative thinking and application of tools.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex projects and engineering teams.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and industry standards.
  • Proven experience with client management and business development.
