DescriptionNorthrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking Information Assurance (IA) Engineerstomaintainand enhance capabilities in support of DAFCLOUDworksat theAir Force Research Laboratory (AFRL)inRome, NY. DAFCLOUDworksis a rapidly growing secure cloud program that encompasses 10+ teams supporting information security, infrastructure development, and cloud migration. Along with operations and sustainment, DAFCLOUDworksfocuses onmodifyingand enhancing offerings to implement new requirements, enhance functionality, increase efficiency, or lower operating/deployment. Successful candidates should havea track recordas an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop andmaintaingood working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
This position is contingent on customer approval and funding and may be filled as a level 3 or level 4 based on the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications:
- Level 3 (Principal IA Engineer): A bachelor27s degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experienceOR a master27s degree with 3 years of relevant experience OR a PhD with 1 year of relevant experience
- Level 4 (Sr. Principal IA Engineer): A bachelor27s degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experienceOR a master27s degree with 6 years of relevant experience OR a PhD with 4 years of relevant experience.
- A Top-Secret Clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information eligibility
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
- An IAT Level II certification per DoD 8570.01 such as CompTIA Security+
- Familiarity with Cloud-based technologies (AWS Platform, Azure Platform, Google Cloud)
- Experience with NIST SP 800-53 and / or ISO 27001/27002 (FISMA implementation guidance)
- Experience managing packages in Xacta / EMass (RMF cycle management software)
- Experience applying DISA STIGs (system hardening guidelines)
- Experience writing / maintaining IA documentation and policies
- Experience managing POA&Ms / Vulnerability management and remediation
- Experience with risk assessment and compliance reviews
Preferred Qualifications:
- An active Top-Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI)
- An IAT Level III certification per DoD 8570.01
- Fundamental cloud certifications such as:
- AWS Platform (>= Cloud Practitioner)
- Azure Platform (>= Azure Fundamentals)
- Expertise managing POA&Ms / Vulnerability management and remediation
- Experience advising development teams on good practice for IA compliance
- Experience managing and implementing security controls
- Having one or more of the following certifications: ISC2 CCSP, ISC2 CISSP, ISACA CISM, ISACA CISA
Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $155,400.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $193,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate27s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
