Due to increased demand for our Electronic Design Services, Optimum (an Emerald Technologies company) is currently seeking passionate Principal H/W Design Engineers that are well versed circuit design of Digital, Analog, and Power technologies to join our world-class design team working from home.
As a Principal H/W Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in theDesign of electronic hardware and software that meet our customers' quality and delivery requirements.
Job Responsibilities:- Apply independence and creativity to drive project design scope and deliverables.
- Develop Functional Design Specifications.
- Circuit design: Digital, Analog, and Power.
- PCIe, DDR, Microprocessor, DSP, etc.
- I2C, SPI, PCIe, DDR3+, Ethernet, USB, CSI, DSI, etc.
- Analog/RF experience is a plus.
- BLE and/or WiFi experience a plus.
- Schematic Capture and Layout Review/Guidance/Management.
- Pre&Post Signal and Power Integrity analysis (optional).
- FPGA and CPLD design (Verilog, VHDL).
- FPGA test benches and verification (ModelSim, Xilinx, Altera, etc.).
- Develop test plans/methods to ensure product reliability and performance targets are met.
- Prototype bring up and system integration.
- Working knowledge of EMC/CE/UL compliance requirements.
- Software and Firmware development.
Qualifications and Experience:- BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering required.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Expert user of one or more of the following tools: Siemens DxDesigner (preferred), Altium and Xpedition-DxDesigner.
- Application of formal project management and system engineering methodologies to development of complex, high performance electronics systems..
- Work history in aerospace/defense market a plus.
