Full Job Description
Due to increased demand for our Electronic Design Services, Optimum (an Emerald Technologies company) is currently seeking passionate Principal H/W Design Engineers that are well versed circuit design of Digital, Analog, and Power technologies to join our world-class design team working from home.

As a Principal H/W Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in theDesign of electronic hardware and software that meet our customers' quality and delivery requirements.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Apply independence and creativity to drive project design scope and deliverables.
  • Develop Functional Design Specifications.
  • Circuit design: Digital, Analog, and Power.
  • PCIe, DDR, Microprocessor, DSP, etc.
  • I2C, SPI, PCIe, DDR3+, Ethernet, USB, CSI, DSI, etc.
  • Analog/RF experience is a plus.
  • BLE and/or WiFi experience a plus.
  • Schematic Capture and Layout Review/Guidance/Management.
  • Pre&Post Signal and Power Integrity analysis (optional).
  • FPGA and CPLD design (Verilog, VHDL).
  • FPGA test benches and verification (ModelSim, Xilinx, Altera, etc.).
  • Develop test plans/methods to ensure product reliability and performance targets are met.
  • Prototype bring up and system integration.
  • Working knowledge of EMC/CE/UL compliance requirements.
  • Software and Firmware development.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering required.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Expert user of one or more of the following tools: Siemens DxDesigner (preferred), Altium and Xpedition-DxDesigner.
  • Application of formal project management and system engineering methodologies to development of complex, high performance electronics systems..
  • Work history in aerospace/defense market a plus.
