As a Principal Geotechnical Engineer specializing in Deep Foundations, based in Vancouver, BC, you will help deliver landmark infrastructure that supports resilient, thriving communities across British Columbia and the Yukon.

You will work closely with a nationally recognized deep foundations expert and a highly skilled geotechnical team, leading complex design work on some of the most exciting and technically challenging projects in the region.

Your Impact

In this role, you will:
  • Be involved in leading the business and technical growth of the deep foundations practice locally, regionally, and nationally.
  • Develop and drive deep foundation strategies in collaboration with specialists and market leaders.
  • Share technical expertise across geographic boundaries to elevate innovation and project delivery.
  • Guide multidisciplinary teams through full project life cycles - from early engagement to completion.
  • Prepare and lead geotechnical studies and engineering reports that meaningfully influence design outcomes.
  • Oversee geotechnical investigations, procurement processes, contractor evaluations, and project execution.
  • Evaluate complex geotechnical conditions including deep foundation design, seismic assessments, settlement, slope stability, construction considerations and many other geotechnical engineering aspects.
  • Support field operations through leadership in many facets of geotechnical engineering including boreholes, in situ testing, piezocone soundings, earthworks, pile driving testing, instrumentation installation and data collection, construction reviews, and more.
  • Serve as Project Manager or Project Director with accountability for scope, schedule, budget, quality, client relationships, and team performance.

You bring:
  • A degree in Civil or Geological Engineering.
  • Registration as a P.Eng. with EGBC or eligibility to register.
  • 15+ years of experience in geotechnical or geomechanics engineering, including 5+ years in deep foundations.
  • Expertise with geotechnical software such as Ensoft, Pile Dynamics, GeoStudio, Rocscience, and related tools.
  • Proven ability to evaluate complex geotechnical analyses and provide high-quality technical direction.
  • A track record of delivering projects on time, on budget, and with excellence.
  • Initiative, independence, and a passion for elevating the practice of geotechnical engineering.

Compensation
  • AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT:$147,500 - $195,400
  • MB & ON:$134,600 - $184,600
  • NB, NL, NS, PE & QC:$133,200 - $176,900
