Full Job Description
πŸš€ Help Brands Win on Amazon - and Love Where You Work

πŸ“ Role: Principal Financial Systems & Data Analyst

πŸ“ Location: San Diego, CA 92101 (Onsite at Symphony Towers)

πŸ’° Compensation Range: $140,000-$170,000 DOE

We9re building the financial infrastructure behind our growth - and we need a builder to lead it. As our Principal Financial Systems & Data Analyst, you9ll be the architect of our finance data foundation, reporting ecosystem, and BI strategy. You9ll consolidate fragmented data into a single source of truth in BigQuery, build the analytics layer across Amazon sales, warehouse, product, inventories, and supply chain, and drive automation across our Finance and Accounting teams.

This isn9t a maintain-and-report role. It9s a ground-up build at the intersection of finance, data, and operations - for someone who gets energized by creating something from nothing and wants to own the outcome.

If you want your next move to mean more - more ownership, more impact, and a clear seat at the table - we9d love to meet you!

🎯 What You9ll Be Doing
  • Establish BigQuery as the central system of record - migrating brand, product, and transaction-level financial data from disparate sources and governing it as our single source of truth
  • Build granular profitability reporting by brand, ASIN, and SKU, including executive dashboards, KPI scorecards, and self-service BI capabilities for Finance, Accounting, and Operations
  • Integrate Amazon sales, inventory, COGS, fulfillment costs, and fees into unified financial views supporting margin analysis, inventory planning, and working capital optimization
  • Drive automation across Finance and Accounting workflows to eliminate manual reconciliation; evaluate and implement AI-enabled reporting, forecasting, and anomaly detection
  • Optimize current systems (QuickBooks, REACH, Google Sheets) and lead the evaluation and implementation of an enterprise ERP and FP&A platform over the next 1-2 years in partnership with our CFO
  • Serve as the primary systems liaison across Finance, Accounting, Operations, Supply Chain, Brand Management, Analytics Engineering, and Technology - translating complexity into clear, actionable insights for leadership

022 What You Bring
  • 10+ years building high-impact financial systems, FP&A, and BI infrastructure from the ground up
  • Direct Amazon Seller Central experience - FBA/FBM financial data, inventory, and sales integrations
  • Advanced SQL and data modeling skills; hands-on with BigQuery, Snowflake, or similar platforms
  • Strong financial acumen across Accounting and FP&A, with BI tool experience (Looker, Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
  • Familiarity with WMS and inventory data feeds; builder mentality with a track record of creating scalable systems
  • Bachelor9s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar), SMB tools (QuickBooks, REACH), multi-brand or CPG environments, automation tools, and AI applications in finance a plus

πŸ™ You9ll be based in Symphony Towers, one of San Diego9s premier office spaces that offers:
  • Stunning views of the city and coastline
  • Free access to the building gym
  • Discounts at restaurants and cafes in the tower
  • Secure bike racks in the building and 24/7 paid parking in a nearby downtown structure
  • Close walking distance to 100+ of the top bars, restaurants, and coffee shops

Our office is designed for comfort, productivity, and collaboration, featuring:
  • Ergonomic standing desks and high-quality workstations
  • A fully stocked snack bar, espresso machine, and cold drinks
  • A welcoming team lounge area and sunny workspaces
  • A clean, modern space where we can do our best work together

🎁 Benefits & Perks

Our people are our #1 priority. Our benefits include:
  • Multiple medical plan options through Anthem Blue Cross
  • Dental & vision insurance (including orthodontia and annual exams)
  • Pet benefit program with savings on vet care, products, and services
  • Paid vacation (accruing up to 120+ hours/year with rollover and cap)
  • Paid holidays annually
  • Coverage for spouses/domestic partners and dependents under 26

πŸ’΅ Compensation Transparency

We9ve listed a salary range of $140,000-$170,000/year to account for varying levels of experience, depth of systems expertise, and Amazon/BI background. Where you land in the range will depend on how your experience maps to the specific challenges of this role.

We9re committed to compensating based on value and impact - and we9re happy to have open, honest conversations about comp throughout the process.
