About the role:

As a Principal Field Specialist you will be responsible for all project management processes on highly complex projects. You will supervise large teams (20-30 members) which may include project controls and sub-project managers. You may serve as a technical inputs lead for large complexity proposal projects as assigned may be assigned overall project manager responsibilities of a highly complex project.

You will report to the Manager of Reactor & Balance of Plant Inspection Operations. This is a remote position that can be performed from anywhere in the United States. This role will require up to 50% travel for outage work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete all aspects of planning process including authoring project plans and developing scope, schedule, and cost baselines.
  • Lead end-to-end project execution, monitoring, and control activities, ensuring alignment to scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, and stakeholder requirements while driving project performance, financial compliance, and successful contract delivery.
  • Lead project closeout activities, including final assessments, documentation, lessons learned, and archival of project records to ensure successful project completion and knowledge transfer.
  • Interpret and transmit contract requirements and subsequent changes to functional groups.
  • Integrate projects' objectives and actions through participation with other project groups in matters of common concern.
  • Seek out and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in project management, engineering, construction management or related technical degree or equivalent technical experience in an industrial environment.
  • 10 years of project manager experience or 5 years of project management/supervisor experience and 5 years' experience in technical role.
  • Westinghouse Project Manager qualification in progress or willingness to complete in designated time frame.
  • Expertise of the Project Management Institute's Project Management Body of Knowledge.
  • Obtain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant and working with hazardous materials
  • Ability to travel during the spring and fall for potentially months at a time on jobs
    • 12 hour schedule on nights or days when on site assignments
    • 6-7 days per week on site assignment
  • This is a physical position, which requires the ability to
    • Lift 50-60 lbs
    • Ascend and descend ladders
    • Work in an industrial environment when on assignment
    • Work in a radiological environment


We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,200.00 to $129,000.00 per year.
