We're seeking a
Principal Field Service Engineer to join our Commercial Engines Customer Technical Services team, supporting the global PW2000 and PW4000 engine fleet. This is a highly visible technical role where you'll partner directly with airline customers, maintenance organizations, and internal engineering teams to solve complex operational challenges, improve fleet reliability, and represent Pratt & Whitney as a trusted technical advisor.
What You Will Do: - Serve as the primary technical advisor for airline customers and Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) facilities supporting the global PW2000 and PW4000 engine fleet, providing expertise in fan, compressor, mechanical systems, and nacelle components.
- Lead complex engine event investigations, perform root cause analyses, and develop technical solutions that improve fleet reliability, safety, and operational performance.
- Partner with cross-functional engineering, Product Safety, Certification & Validation, and airframer teams to resolve technical issues, support engine modifications, and maintain continued airworthiness.
- Develop and review Engineering Authorizations (EAs), Special Instructions, and maintenance documentation while contributing to updates for engine manuals and other technical publications.
- Provide timely technical support for Aircraft-On-Ground (AOG) events and other critical operational issues, collaborating with airline engineers, maintenance teams, and Pratt & Whitney Field Service Representatives.
- Identify recurring fleet trends and recommend process and product improvements that enhance customer support, engine reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Occasional weekend and after-hours support are required to assist with urgent customer needs and Aircraft-On-Ground (AOG) events.
- Approximately 5% domestic and international travel is required for customer meetings, technical conferences, and safety or operational event investigations.

Qualifications You Must Have:- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering and 8 years of aerospace engineering experience; or an Advanced degree in a related field with 5 years of aerospace engineering experience.
Qualifications We Prefer:- Experience providing technical support to airline customers or Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) organizations.
- Experience with aircraft engine maintenance, troubleshooting, or field service support.
- Familiarity with commercial aircraft engine systems, maintenance documentation, and operational support processes.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
