Purpose of Position and Scope of Responsibility: Teach as assigned by the Academic Director, and remediation of PA students.
Under the general direction of Program Director
Under the direct supervision of Academic Director
Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:- Develop, review, and revise as necessary the program's mission statement, goals, and competencies
- Select applicants for admissions to the PA Program
- Provide student instruction.
- Evaluate student performance
- Provide academic counseling of students
- Assure the availability for remedial instruction
- Design, implement, coordinate, and evaluate the PA Program curriculum.
- Evaluate the PA Program
- Participate in assigned committee meetings.
- Ensure/maintain the confidentiality of student information.
- Perform related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed

Minimum QualificationsKnowledge/EducationExperienceLicensure, Registration, CertificationThe candidate must be a graduate of an accredited PA Program and possess a graduate degree in Physician Assistant Studies or comparable degree.
Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience. The ability to work collaboratively is essential. Applicants must demonstrate strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Candidates must also: exhibit abilities in planning and organization; possess a solid work ethic and a positive attitude; be resourceful and computer literate. Some travel is required.
The candidate must be NCCPA certified with appropriate clinical practice experience, and hold a current PA license in Tennessee or be eligible for licensure.
Desired Qualifications Knowledge/EducationExperienceLicensure, Registration, CertificationThe ideal candidate has experience educating PA students either as a clinical preceptor or as a faculty member.
Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience.
The ideal candidate must be NCCPA certified with appropriate clinical practice experience, and hold a current PA license in Tennessee or be eligible for licensure.
Physical Requirements:Work requires light physical exertion (up to 30 pounds) on a frequent basis (up to 50% of time) or continuous walking; or moderate physical exertion (up to 50 pounds) on an occasional basis up to 15% of time); or heavy physical exertion (over 50 pounds) on an intermittent basis (not a routine part of the job).
Environmental Conditions:Work is performed under basically normal working conditions as in a standard office and classroom environment.
