The successful candidate will serve as a senior technical specialist within the remediation practice, providing advanced technical expertise and independent decision-making on complex environmental projects. This position will include leading technical execution, developing solutions to challenging environmental issues, and supporting project teams in delivering high-quality, compliant remediation services.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a senior technical specialist for environmental remediation projects involving site investigation, remedial design, environmental data evaluation, regulatory compliance, permitting, and long-term site management.
- Independently evaluate environmental conditions, analyze technical data, and develop recommendations and solutions for complex remediation challenges.
- Lead technical execution of projects, including preparation and review of work plans, technical reports, permit applications, and regulatory submittals.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and scientists in support of project delivery and professional development.
- Serve as Project Manager on a variety of environmental investigation projects with a focus on those requiring compliance with the NJDEP's Site Remediation Program.
- Collaborate with other Project Managers, LSRPs, Engineers, and Scientists to ensure projects are completed in accordance with technical standards, regulatory requirements, and client objectives.
- Perform technical reviews and support QA/QC efforts to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance across project deliverables.
- Prepare technical and cost proposals, evaluate project risks, and contribute to development of competitive solutions for client pursuits.
- Maintain knowledge of applicable environmental regulations, emerging technologies, and industry best practices.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or related discipline required.
- PE, PG, or equivalent professional licensure preferred.
- LSRP license or willingness to pursue the LSRP examination preferred.
- 8+ years of environmental consulting experience with demonstrated expertise in site investigations, remediation systems, soil and groundwater treatment, environmental compliance, waste management, remediation optimization, and long-term operations and maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage technical assignments and develop practical solutions to complex environmental challenges.
- Experience coordinating project teams and providing technical guidance to junior staff.
- Familiarity with SRRA, ARRCS, RCRA, CERCLA, TSCA, and related state and federal regulatory programs.
- Strong understanding of local, state, and federal environmental requirements and permitting processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training with annual refresher preferred.
- Occasional travel and collaboration across offices required.
