Job Description:Microchip is searching for a Principal Engineer - Design to be part of the Networking and Communications Group located in Hauppauge, NY. A candidate placed in this position will be a contributor in the Networking and Communication Group Design Team, focused on bringing advanced connectivity devices to market, including Ethernet switches & bridges, USB hubs & power delivery, PCIe bridges, serial interfaces (SerDes) and other connectivity interfaces.
Requirements/Qualifications:Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or equivalent Engineering with 10+ years of relevant industry experience
- Experience in Ethernet, USB, and/or PCIe
- Digital design projects using Verilog/System Verilog
- Proficient in Verilog/System Verilog
- Experience with the ASIC design and/or verification flow
- Strong analytical, communication (written and verbal), and documentation skills
- Excellent problem solving, debugging and organization skills
- Must be highly motivated and able to work in collaborative group environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of following protocols: USB (USB3.0, USB2.0), USB Power Delivery, PCIe, Ethernet (10/100/1G BASE-T and 1G-25G SerDes)
- Peripherals Interfaces: SPI, I2C, UART etc.
- Experience with simulation and simulation tools
- Experience with Xilinx FPGA emulation and debug

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $75,000-$232,000.*
*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
