How will you make an impact?
We are looking for aPrincipal Electrical Rack Engineerwithin the Intelligent Infrastructure Segment to drive electrical and power solutions for high-performance computing systems.
As a Principal Engineer, you will be expected to demonstrate a level of expertise in a particular area that matches or exceeds the expertise of customers.
You will consult on system architecture, assess technical requirements and competencies needed during quoting and oversee design progressions during product developments.
You will mentor and lead others in the organization to build team members design capability.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams, customers, and global vendors is essential to align electrical architecture with overall system design and international standards.
What will you do?
Lead the end-to-end integration and testing of rack electrical solutions, including high/low voltage systems (AC/DC), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and power distribution units (PDUs) in varying form factors and product lines.
Participate in customer engagements and site visits to understand and document deployment constraints and gather feedback for design improvements.
Build accurate rack power budgets and model electrical capacity for both current and future highdensity server or switch configurations.
Manage relationships with electrical/power component vendors to build out a robust partner ecosystem consisting of PSUs, PDUs, bus bars, power shelves, and high voltage equipment.
Ensure all rack designs meet safety and certification requirements such as NEC/NFPA, IEEE, and UL/IEC.
Design, review, or integrate rack PDUs and powerdistribution components, including breaker configurations, metering, and loadbalancing features.
Perform detailed failuremode analysis, including FMEA and rootcause investigations for electrical defects or field issues.
Define, validate, and improve factory electrical test strategies, including continuity testing, sequencing, load testing, and safety verification.
Be highly proficient in developing, updating, and interpreting electrical oneline diagrams for racklevel and rowlevel power architectures, ensuring accurate representation of power flow, grounding, redundancy, and protection devices.
Collaborate with Architects/Compliance/Reliability and global vendors to align electrical architectures with total system design and international data center/power standards (e.g., OCP, ASHRAE, ANSI, TIA-942).
Develop and maintain design documentation including BOMs, specifications, test plans, and engineering change orders (ECOs).
Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for electrical failures or field issues.
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
