Job Summary

Provide technical support in the Nuclear Strategic Projects Balance of Plant department for the Salem Power Uprate Project. The successful candidate will perform the duties as a Civil/Structural Design Engineer for the power uprate for Salem Units 1 and 2. The engineer is responsible for designing and implementing civil and structural power uprate modifications.

Job Responsibilities

Some specific duties include:
  • Provide technical leadership to ensure plant modifications and project activities comply with structural engineering standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Interface with Project Manager, contractors and engineering staff to ensure that Engineering deliverables meet the overall project goals.
  • Provide field support during modification walkdowns, installation, testing and as-built verification.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements including 50.59, License Amendment Request preparation and any required supporting analysis.
  • Perform other assigned duties as determined by the Balance of Plant Engineering Manager.
  • Assigned duties in the Emergency Response Organization.


Job Specific Qualifications

Required:
  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering / Technical degree.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering
  • Availability for shift work during installation.
  • Must meet nuclear requirements for unescorted plant access.
  • Must possess a valid US driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
  • A valid Real ID or an approved form of alternate documentation (https://www.pseg.com/IDrequirement) is required for this job. Must provide appropriate documentation to meet access requirements on the date of hire.

Desired:
  • Power uprate experience at a pressurized water reactor (PWR)
  • Prior Design Engineering configuration control qualifications
  • Professional Engineering license (NJ or other state)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
