Remora is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the architecture, design, and deployment of high-power AC electrical systems supporting industrial generation and distribution infrastructure. This is a hands-on technical leadership role with full ownership of electrical system strategy, high-voltage AC design, and technical execution from concept through commissioning. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in 480V 3-phase industrial power, medium- and high-voltage distribution systems, and integration of 1-5 MW generator installations. You are equally comfortable defining system architecture and rolling up your sleeves-performing detailed power studies, developing schematics, guiding protection strategies, and troubleshooting complex high-voltage installations in the field.
Responsibilities:Plan & Develop- Own electrical projects from concept through commissioning.
- Define scalable AC power distribution architectures for industrial environments.
- Develop technical scope, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Adapt system designs to evolving regulatory, utility, and site-specific requirements, including utility interconnection constraints.
- Establish and maintain internal standards for medium- and high-voltage AC system design, validation, and safety.
- Strengthen organizational capability by identifying technical gaps and elevating team expertise.
Design- Lead the architecture and design of AC power systems, including low-, medium-, and high-voltage distribution (typical ranges spanning 480V-15kV, including 4.16kV and 13.8kV class systems), protection schemes, grounding strategies, and system integration.
- Develop single line diagrams and perform load flow, short-circuit, arc flash, and protection coordination studies, including incident energy analysis and mitigation strategies.
- Define and implement protection relay strategy, including relay selection, settings development, and programming for coordinated system protection.
- Develop generator integration strategies including paralleling, synchronization, load sharing, and protection for 1-5 MW natural gas or diesel systems.
- Design and integrate switchgear, transformers, breakers, isolation equipment, and utility interconnections.
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards, including NFPA 70E, NEC, IEEE, and other relevant safety and regulatory requirements.
- Drive structured design reviews and establish scalable engineering documentation standards.
Grow- Lead complex industrial AC power projects involving medium- and high-voltage systems.
- Deliver measurable impact through ownership of MW-scale generator and high-voltage deployments.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff.
- Build scalable electrical design standards and engineering processes.
- Continuously improve system safety, reliability, and performance.
- Stay current on emerging technologies and evolving high-voltage industry standards.
Collaborate- Partner cross-functionally with mechanical, controls, and manufacturing teams to deliver fully integrated systems.
- Provide technical leadership on installation sequencing and commissioning strategy.
- Work directly with utilities, EPC firms, and equipment vendors to develop compliant system designs aligned with regulatory and safety standards.
- Lead utility interconnection efforts, including coordination of interconnection agreements, export limitations, and compliance with anti-islanding requirements and IEEE 1547 standards.
- Communicate complex electrical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support leadership with technical insight to inform strategic decisions.
Execute- Oversee installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of AC power systems, including energized system commissioning strategies for MW-scale deployments.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts across medium- and high-voltage systems during startup and field operations.
- Direct grounding, bonding, transformer application, and protection system implementation.
- Ensure safe execution through arc flash risk mitigation, proper PPE requirements, and adherence to NFPA 70E and related standards.
- Drive structured root cause analysis for electrical system failures and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Implement quality and reliability processes to ensure long-term system performance.

- Experience integrating MW-scale generator systems in the 1-5 MW range.
- Strong background in power system analysis, including load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, and arc flash studies.
- Hands-on experience with protective relays, including selection, settings development, and commissioning.
- Experience with utility interconnection processes, including interconnection agreements and IEEE 1547 compliance.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 70E and electrical safety practices in industrial environments.
