Responsibilities- Strong knowledge of large-scale IP networking, including routing, switching, network security, and common control-plane protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
- Experience with tunneling and segmentation protocols such as EVPN/VXLAN.
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, highly available network systems and capabilities for OCI.
- Experience designing, implementing, and operating production network systems with high availability and operational rigor.
- Experience with network automation or software development, preferably Python.
- Ability to independently lead technical design work, communicate decisions clearly, and guide other engineers.
- Translate high-level business, product, and service requirements into detailed network architectures, designs, implementation plans, and documentation.
- Drive technical delivery for moderately complex projects and coordinate the work of a small group of engineers where needed.
- Define and improve engineering standards for network design, validation, lifecycle management, monitoring, and operational readiness.
- Lead technical reviews that address resiliency, scalability, failure modes, security, capacity, observability, and rollback strategies.
- Develop targeted automation and tooling to reduce operational toil, improve deployment safety, and strengthen network validation.
- Serve as a Tier 3 or specialized escalation point for complex network events; lead technical deep dives, root-cause analysis, and systemic corrective actions.
- Collaborate across teams to resolve design dependencies and improve shared engineering and operational practices.
- Mentor engineers through technical coaching, design reviews, and hands-on guidance.
