Job Description

Evaluates scoped sites against Oracle's requirements for data centers. Collaborates with multidisciplinary internal and external teams to design the power, cooling, and air flow designs for the data center infrastructure. Conducts failure analyses and responds to emergencies as needed. Assesses data center infrastructure and evaluate plans provided by the Build and Engineering Services (BES) team. Determines cooling requirements and architectural tradeoffs to ensure the white space design meets their requirements to manage variables such as heat, humidity, and air flow. Researches innovative new data center designs, materials, and/or methods.

Infrastructure Design and Development-Capacity Delivery:-Delivers infrastructure capacity for Oracle Cloud.-Contributes to collaboration with Site Selection,Design & Construction, and DC Engineering Operations to ensure on-timedelivery of expansion capacity in OCI datacenters globally.-Contributes to the delivery of capacity acrosscloud offerings.
-Collaborates with hardware development teams toenable and automate capacity planning tools, real-time observability, andinfrastructure monitoring services (e.g., through platform characterization).Infrastructure Design and Development-Infrastructure Development:-Designs data center critical infrastructure forOracle Cloud.
-Collaborates with colocation providers andinternal stakeholders to deliver project design criteria and develop Basis ofDesign.
-Partners with hardware development teams to drivethe design direction/definition of roadmap, and drive concepts onto roadmap andinto OCI fleet.
-Collaborates with the hardware development, datacenter design, and construction teams to ensure seamless transition fromarchitecture to implementation.
-Develops and manages advanced cooling solutions.Innovation:
-Contributes to the research of new designs,materials, and construction methods for data center equipment and relatedcomponents, including site and building.
-Participates in the identification of and monitorsthe need for new tools to improve the quality of data and analytics.-Contributes to the evaluation of new power andadvanced cooling technologies that enable the delivery of artificialintelligence (AI) products and other technologies driving up density andperformance in data centers.
-Participates in influencing the development ofoptimal components and solutions for future OCI fleet requirements by partners(e.g., technology providers and design partners).
Innovation-Patent Generation:
-Contributes to the identification ofopportunities to generate intellectual property to help strengthen OCI'sposition as a leader in Cloud Computing.
Quality Assurance-Documentation:
-Contributes to the review and maintenance of datacenter infrastructure site documentation (e.g., floor plans, rack elevations,cable matrices).
-Participates in reviewing and evaluating Requestsfor Information (RFI), Requests for Proposals (RFP) and RFP, and Requests forQualification (RFQ) submittals.
-Contributes to the development of OCI data centerfacilities requirements documentation.
Quality Assurance:
-Evaluates products.
-Follows quality benchmarks for new sites,regions, and/or deployments.
-Partners with colocation providers to ensurerequirements are met.
Quality Assurance-Standard Development/Maintenance:-Contributes to implementing updates to designstandards and specifications for consistency, maximum system reliability andoptimal facility utilization.
-Adheres to global data center infrastructurestandards.
-Follows whitespace design standards.Thermal Management-Thermal Management Solutions:
-Contributes to partnership cross-functionally(e.g., data center design, construction, mechanical/electrical engineeringteams) to ensure the provision of optimized, scalable cooling solutions, aswell as thermal solutions optimized for the entire stack.-Aligns with power and cooling standards (e.g.,input voltage, rack density, heat rejection, power consumption) for OCI shapesthroughout data center fleet.
Thermal Management-Thermal Testing, Simulation, and Reviews:-Contributes to the review of thermal simulationmodels from partners to identify risks and improve efficiency.Thermal Management-Thermal Design:
-Aligns OCI thermal hardware design and datacenter physical infrastructure with minimal oversight.-Participates in collaboration withmultifunctional engineering groups to deliver hardware and data center sitesthat meet the associated thermal specifications.
-Contributes to collaboration with firmware andcontrols engineering teams to create robust thermal control and monitoringsystems.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $102,300 to $209,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
