Full Job Description
This position is part of the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). Specialists own the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for their respective technology domains, delivering the business and technical expertise that helps customers succeed. Partner teams own the strategy, recruitment, development, and growth of our key technology and consulting partners. Together, they provide customers with the expertise and scale needed to build innovative solutions for their most complex challenges.

We are seeking a customer-obsessed, highly motivated Database & Analytics Specialist to join the AWS Healthcare & Life Sciences (HCLS) Data & AI team. In this business development role, you will identify, qualify, and close opportunities that help AWS's largest HCLS customers build modern data foundations - whether that means migrating off legacy commercial databases, architecting data lakes, enabling real-time analytics, or designing the business intelligence layer that powers AI-driven outcomes like accelerating drug discovery and improving patient care. You will partner closely with Specialist Solutions Architects who own the technical solution, allowing you to focus on building pipeline, shaping business cases, and guiding customers through the buying journey.

Key job responsibilities

Build sales pipeline and generate revenue
• Be the domain authority. Act as the primary Database and Analytics specialist for HCLS customer, support customer engagements related to data migration and modernization initiatives.
• Bridge technical and business stakeholders. Translate complex database migration risks, TCO models, and architectural trade-offs into compelling business narratives for Line of Business and C-suite leaders.
• Achieve revenue targets by developing and maintaining a healthy pipeline, and guiding customers through end-to-end sales cycles, from discovery through to implementation
• Create growth plans in partnership with HCLS Sales teams, SI Partner teams, and AWS Service teams.
• Help customers reduce dependency on commercial database licenses by identifying migration paths that lower licensing costs, present open-source alternatives, and drive AWS service adoption.
• Collaborate with customers to identify and qualify high-impact database and analytics use cases aligned to their business priorities and strategic objectives.
• Act as a trusted advisor on AWS database and analytics services, helping customers understand potential outcomes, value, and return on investment;
• Lead technical discovery sessions and contribute to demonstrations, proofs of concept, and solution design.
• Contribute customer insights to AWS product teams to influence the database and analytics services roadmap.

A day in the life

You will work across HCLS customers and partners to identify growth opportunities that drive AWS adoption for data and AI workloads. You will be a key contributor to strategic customer engagements, define and execute GTM strategies (e.g., sales playbooks, field enablement, solution building) that deliver outsized value to customers and the business, and report on progress, customer insights, and business trends to leadership teams.

About the team

Within ASP, this position is a part of the Go-To-Market (GTM) Specialist team, where you will lead the GTM strategy for Datbase & Analytics, helping our Account Teams win large-scale complex deals and directly support our largest and most strategic customer relationships. We create sales plays, build pipeline, leverage partners, and build new initiatives that drive results for our customers. We also provide critical feedback from customers to inform our product roadmap, and work closely with our partner network to build an ecosystem supporting our customers' goals. In emerging areas, we play a critical role as the "first in" teams to build markets for new services, domains, or solutions. When a customer needs to innovate and requires a new way to leverage AWS, they count on us to innovate with them to build and deliver what they need. When a customer is considering migrating at scale they look to us for guidance on best practices across application types and patterns for migration and modernization.

Once engaged, the GTM Specialist Team is expected to quickly qualify opportunities by identifying a high-level scope and size and customer position.
