Job Overview
The Principal, Business Intelligence role is a critical member of the Sales Data & Advanced Analytics team within the Vice President of Sales organization. This position is responsible for delivering strategic insights, advanced analytics, and enterprise reporting capabilities that provide leadership and key stakeholders with a comprehensive view of business performance across vehicle distribution, sales, market operations, and related commercial functions

As a senior individual contributor and thought leader, the Principal will help define, develop, and continuously improve the organization's analytics and reporting framework. The role requires deep expertise across the full data and analytics lifecycle, including business requirements gathering, data sourcing and integration, data quality management, solution design, data modeling, dashboard and report development, and advanced analytical methodologies. Working closely with technology, data engineering, and business stakeholders, the Principal will translate complex business needs into scalable, automated, and repeatable analytics solutions that support operational decision-making and long-term strategic objectives

This role serves as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing guidance on analytical best practices, emerging technologies, reporting standards, and data governance. The Principal is expected to identify opportunities to leverage data as a strategic asset, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and champion a data-driven culture across the organization

In addition to designing and delivering analytical solutions, the Principal will be responsible for interpreting results, communicating key findings, and transforming complex data into clear, actionable recommendations. Success in this role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with departments throughout the organization to align stakeholders, influence decision-making, and develop measurable action plans that drive business performance and customer outcomes

Responsibilities
Solution and Data Architecture Oversight:
• Guide the team in developing an in-depth understanding of diverse data sources, formats, and operational systems to create a cohesive data strategy that supports enterprise-wide objectives
• Oversee the team's efforts in architecting and implementing scalable, future-proof data and system architectures that align with evolving business goals and technological advancements
• Ensure team partners effectively with IT teams to design sustainable, long-term data pipelines and architectural frameworks, ensuring seamless integration and operational efficiency
• Lead the team in defining intuitive user flows and experiences, driving the development of robust frontend and backend infrastructures that enhance usability and performance

Data Governance and Quality Management:
• Ensure the team maintains strict compliance with company and industry data policies, standards, and regulatory requirements to safeguard data integrity and security
• Oversee the establishment and enforcement of comprehensive data quality management frameworks to guarantee accuracy, consistency, and reliability of sales data
• Champion data stewardship and ownership programs, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence within the sales organization

Solution Management:
• Guide the team in leveraging advanced analytics to collect, analyze, and interpret complex datasets, delivering actionable insights that drive strategic sales initiatives
• Work closely with business units to identify and address their unique solution and data requirements, fostering tailored, high-impact solutions
• Oversee the design and implementation of robust operating models to optimize data management processes, enhancing the quality and accessibility of sales-related data
• Apply specialized knowledge of Mercedes-Benz sales and operational systems to streamline processes, maximize system performance, and elevate data management practices

Qualifikationen Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a closely related field

Experience
• Minimum of 5 years in solution and data architecture, data governance, or solution/product management roles, with a track record of delivering impactful outcomes
• Extensive knowledge of data management principles, including advanced data modeling, database design, and data integration techniques
• Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent platforms to create compelling, actionable dashboards
• Understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications within data analysis, reporting, and task automation
• Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing data governance frameworks and data quality assurance programs
• In-depth understanding of Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) and its application in building scalable data pipelines
