Job Description

Responsible for strategy, planning, and execution to align business operations with the credit union's mission and goals. Conduct analyses and gather, organize, and review data to identify internal and external strategic issues and opportunities affecting growth and profitability of the organization. Operates independently with minimal guidance to structure ambiguous problems, determine approach, identify risks and dependencies, and develop solutions to complex business challenges that have a significant impact on the function or branch. Owns work from intake through completion, including planning, stakeholder alignment, communication, issue resolution, escalation, and follow-through. Specialized skill set and proficiency with procedures, analysis techniques, project delivery practices, and business tools. Recognized as an expert and trusted advisor in own area within the company. Reports to VP or other functional executive.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate business data and conduct analyses and reporting to identify challenges, opportunities, risks, and dependencies; provide solutions and recommendations to complex business problems using quantitative analysis methodology to perform data, cost and benefit, and/or process measurement analysis
  • Independently convert ambiguous requests into structured work plans, deliverables, timelines, decision points, and next steps with limited manager support for routine execution activities
  • Partner across teams to develop advanced statistical models and forecasting techniques to predict future business performance and inform strategic decision-making
  • Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and opportunities for innovation
  • Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, adapting to competing demands and organizational changes, and proactively driving execution from intake through completion
  • Create concise, executive-ready communications that synthesize complex information into clear status updates, recommendations, decision points, risks, and escalation paths with minimal revision
  • Assess requirements for internal business processes, ensuring integration across teams and business units and compatibility with organizational strategic goals
  • Maintain project plans, action logs, timelines, issue and risk tracking, stakeholder communications, and follow-up routines to drive accountability and ensure commitments are tracked through completion
  • Utilize comprehensive knowledge of company's internal operations to develop forward-looking focus for business


Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of experience in business and operational strategy, planning and analysis
  • Subject matter expert within business area/specialization with understanding of interrelationships of different disciplines
  • Expert knowledge of data querying, reporting, forecasting, analysis and operations research
  • Advanced research, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to independently structure ambiguous problems and determine appropriate analysis or delivery approach
  • Advanced problem resolution skills, including determining root cause, scope and scale of issues, identifying options, recommending paths forward, and escalating with clear context when appropriate
  • Advanced proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, reporting, collaboration, and project delivery tools; independently learns and applies new systems, processes, and procedures as needed
  • Advanced leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Expert project management skills to lead projects and/or initiatives of large scope, including independently creating and maintaining work plans, action logs, timelines, issue and risk tracking, stakeholder communications, and follow-up mechanisms while working effectively with diverse internal and external contacts
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with sound judgment and limited direction, anticipate needs, prioritize effectively, and deliver executive-ready work products with minimal rework
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field
