POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Principal Autonomy & Navigation Engineer to lead the design and development of a navigation subsystem supporting assured, resilient navigation across multiple aerospace platforms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead design and development of navigation algorithms and architecture, including sensor fusion and state estimation
- Own technical direction for assured navigation performance in GPS-denied or degraded environments
- Direct and review the work of supporting navigation and estimation engineers
- Define verification and validation approach for navigation subsystem performance
- Support integration of the navigation subsystem across multiple platform programs
- Lead root-cause investigations for navigation performance issues identified during test
- Represent the navigation subsystem in design reviews and certification milestone gates
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably assigned by the Company from time to time.
QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Robotics Engineering (Master's or PhD preferred)
- 7+ years of experience in navigation, estimation, or autonomy engineering, with leadership experience
- Strong background in sensor fusion, state estimation, and navigation algorithm design
- Experience owning a subsystem from concept through verification and certification support
- Strong leadership and cross-program coordination skills
- Canadian Security Clearance is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
- Experience with GPS-denied or assured navigation techniques for uncrewed aerial systems (UAS)
- Familiarity with certification requirements for navigation subsystems
- Experience supporting a reusable subsystem deployed across multiple platform programs
HOURS OF WORK AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The position is an onsite role, and the Employee is required to perform their duties primarily at the Company's designated workplace, as directed by the Company.
- The standard work schedule consists of forty (40) hours per week, typically performed Monday to Friday, subject to operational requirements.
- From time to time, the Employee may be required to maintain reasonable flexibility in working hours to support operational needs, time-sensitive activities, or business priorities.
