The Leonardo DRS Land Systems business is a recognized leader in the design and integration of complex technologies into new and legacy systems and platforms for global military and commercial customers. We are a 5 year running Top Workplace in the Greater St. Louis area.

Job Summary

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time Principal Auditor. This position is based out of our Bridgeton, MO facility but has the option to be a hybrid schedule or a remote worker. The Principal Auditor is responsible for reviewing, maintaining, and overseeing established internal controls to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. They will examine records, reports, operating practices, and documentation. They will also be the primary liaison for external and internal reporting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform highly complex tasks for the company's accounting and business systems functions
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of accounting standards and practices
  • Conduct independent research and apply analytical and problem solving skills to lead and complete numerous and diverse special projects
  • Present findings of work to senior management
  • Provide assistance to management by interpreting reports and identifying and resolving problem areas
  • Analyze and interpret trends or deviations from standards
  • Provide guidance to less experienced staff members
  • Recommend policies and procedures
  • Conduct and document financial and operational audits
  • Examine records and evaluate procedures to determine the effectiveness of financial controls
  • Test accounting and operational procedures to verify that they are meeting established standards. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, procedures and policies
  • Prepare findings and recommendations for improvement to management; oversee execution of those improvements
  • Support operations management by evaluating existing business practices and recommending improvements
  • Work with external auditors and internal resources to respond to requests for information
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or related or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 8+ years of experience in accounting/internal audit
  • Strong understanding of internal controls
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) a plus
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) a plus
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills

The expected pay scale for this position is $90,673.00/year - $140,769.00/year for the states of Illinois and Minnesota, $99,740.00/year - $154,846.00/year for the state of Washington, and $104,274.00/year - $161,884.00/year for the state of California. Should the level, location, or scope of the position change during the hiring process, the pay scale may be modified accordingly. When extending an offer of employment, Leonardo DRS considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position; any Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, the candidate's relevant work experience, education/training, certifications, and key skills; internal equity; and market and business considerations.
