Full Job Description
Job Purpose

The Principal Analyst will report directly to the department Vice President, driving data-driven improvements in performance and process for a department consisting primarily of engineering professionals. The analyst will be responsible for translating and reporting on complex technical topics to a variety of audiences, developing and tracking metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring regulatory and safety compliance, and coordinating/preparing content for/running departmental leadership and all hands meetings in line with established cadences.

Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with Directors to develop and track, objectives, metrics, and Key Performance Indicators for their teams, using tools such as PowerBI and PowerAutomate.
  • Drive continuous improvement in department-wide safety, compliance, regulatory, and Procure2Pay metrics.
  • Organize weekly and monthly performance review meetings and monthly all-hands meetings, including agendas, presentation content, speaker coordination, attendance tracking, and action item follow-up.
  • Lead the preparation of executive-facing inputs summarizing department performance and priorities for monthly enterprise performance meetings.
  • Coordinate and finalize department responses for a variety of internal reports and requests, integrating stakeholder input and ensuring a polished, accurate, and consistent final deliverable.
  • Ensure consistent application of department and company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and support delivery of annual cross-team, in-person events, including the Engineers' Week Celebration, EAM&E Engineering Summits, and NY Electric Leadership offsites.
  • Serve as Business Continuity Planner for department by maintaining readiness plans and coordinating continuity activities and documentation.
  • Organize department change network to drive effective communication, alignment, and adoption of key initiatives.
  • Manage relationship between department and supporting functions (e.g. IT, Finance, People & Culture, Procurement/Accounts Payable, NGV, Customer, Digital).
  • Collaborate across departments and support functions to improve knowledge sharing and processes in support of Directors.
  • Support the identification, development, and execution of cost-efficiency initiatives.
  • Represent the company in industry and regulatory working groups as appropriate, ensuring focus on and attainment of business goals and objectives.
  • Maintain the department SharePoint site and employee onboarding materials to ensure information is current and accessible.
  • Develops and provides training to employees as needed to ensure readiness for new initiatives, policies, and evolving team needs.


Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in any relevant field.
  • 16 year of experience relevant to the role, or 15 years of experience plus a relevant master's degree.
  • Expertise in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and advanced Microsoft tools such as PowerBI and PowerAutomate.
  • Experience in change management and performance improvement.
  • Ability to understand, communicate, and simplify complex technical topics to a variety of audiences.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry practice, standards and legislation.
  • Knowledge of current trends within the industry and developments in legislation or regulation.
  • Knowledge of National Grid's business operations, company policies and practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Adapts approach based on the audience's needs and tailor's messages accordingly.
  • Actively builds and maintains a network of relationships beyond normal business contacts.
  • Works autonomously and proactively implements changes to enhance performance, efficiency, and effectiveness of processes, while challenging existing engineering procedures and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Receptive to change and willing to adjust ideas or opinions based on new information or contrary evidence.

Salary: $147,000.00 - $172,000.00 USD annually
