Job Summary: The Principal AI Engineer will provide hands-on technical leadership for the design, development, security, and governance of AI/ML platforms and products. The role will focus on building production-ready AI/ML and LLM solutions, establishing AI platform standards and governance, developing reusable AI tooling and services, and driving cloud architecture, DevOps, and AI security practices. The position will also mentor engineers and technical leads and collaborate with Security, Legal, Compliance, and engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and governed AI solutions. Key Responsibilities • Design and implement scalable AI/ML and LLM solutions for production environments. • Develop AI platform standards, governance frameworks, evaluation processes, and security controls. • Build reusable AI tooling, services, and developer platforms. • Lead microservices architecture, Docker, Terraform, CI/CD, and DevOps initiatives. • Establish AI and LLM security practices, including prompt-injection protection and data-boundary controls. • Partner with Security, Legal, Compliance, and engineering teams to address AI security, governance, and operational requirements. • Mentor engineers and technical leads and drive engineering best practices. • Provide technical leadership across AI architecture, platform engineering, security, and production deployments. • Guide cross-functional teams in designing scalable, reliable, and maintainable AI platforms and services. Required Qualifications • 15+ years of experience in software engineering, data science, or a related field. • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. • Strong Python and AI/ML experience with production cloud deployments. • Proven experience with LLMs, multi-tenant AI services, and AI platforms. • Strong experience with microservices, Docker, Terraform, CI/CD, and cloud technologies. • Experience with AI/LLM security and governance. • Excellent communication, architecture, technical leadership, and problem-solving skills. • Experience working in Agile and cross-functional environments. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP AI/ML services and platforms. • Experience with Go or TypeScript. • Experience with SOC 2, ISO 27001, or TISAX compliance. Certifications • CISSP or relevant cloud/ML certifications preferred.
