We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Systems Engineer 6 Product Owner supporting one of our premier programs within Raytheon, an RTX Business. In this role, you will work with a cross-disciplinary team of engineers to drive innovation and deliver industry-leading ground system solutions supporting critical customer missions. As the Product Owner, you will serve as the primary link between the Product Manager, Chief Engineer, and key stakeholders, owning the vision, strategy, and execution of a mission-critical ground software capability. Your technical expertise, leadership, and ability to drive execution in an Agile environment will be instrumental to the success of the program.
What You Will Do
Own and communicate the vision, strategy, and roadmap for a ground system component, ensuring alignment across program teams and stakeholders
Collaborate with the Scrum Master and engineering teams to plan and execute Program Increments (PIs) within a SAFe Agile environment
Translate customer needs, mission objectives, and operational concepts into actionable technical requirements, acceptance criteria, and system designs
Manage and prioritize the team backlog, balancing feature development, technical debt, and program objectives
Lead readiness reviews, design reviews, demonstrations, and technical presentations for customers and senior program leadership
Coordinate with systems, software, integration, and test teams to ensure successful delivery of mission capabilities
Analyze program metrics, telemetry data, and performance indicators to support data-driven decision making
Develop and communicate technical documentation, implementation guidance, and product strategies across the organization
Support continuous improvement initiatives and DevSecOps practices throughout the software development lifecycle
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
Experience serving as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Technical Lead, or similar leadership role within an Agile development environment
Experience with satellite ground systems, mission operations, or systems engineering functions such as requirements management, interface definition, and technical risk management
Experience using Agile development and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence, along with familiarity working in DevSecOps and CI/CD environments
Active and transferable U.S. government-issued TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience serving as a SAFe Agile Product Owner on complex government software development programs
Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams across systems, software, integration, and test disciplines
Experience working in a Satellite Ground System development or operations environment
Experience with automated testing and software factory tools such as Cucumber, Gherkin, and Zephyr
Experience developing software in Java, C++, Python, or similar programming languages
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies
Experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket
Strong oral and written communication skills, including experience briefing customers and senior leadership

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidates work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
