A Brief Overview
The Pricing Manager is a high-level Individual Contributor role responsible for building and executing on pricing strategies, tactics, and business models across multiple revenue streams. The Pricing Manager serves as a senior liaison across Revenue, Insurance, Actuarial, and Consulting teams to align to a risk posture and deal strategy that optimizes the balance between risk, revenue and profitability, drives ongoing performance and supports overall corporate goals. Highly engaged with Revenue leadership teams, the role serves as a strategic partner, driving toward shared corporate goals, while upholding best practices and compliance related to TriNet sponsored benefits and comprehensive offering value.

What you will do
  • Serve as the primary escalation partner and provide proactive support and guidance to the Sales and Customer Experience teams to help drive new sales as well as revenue retention and up-sell opportunities
  • Lead cross functional execution of pricing strategies and drive performance improvement.
  • Deliver relevant training to new and existing Sales and Customer Experience colleagues on deal desk, order processes and overall quote to cash best practices
  • Review Sales-proposed quotes, provide feedback and coaching, ensure compliance with published sales and business policies, and approve or reject/escalate quotes as needed based on policy and business judgement
  • Initiate analysis and recommend improvements to strategies to achieve corporate goals
  • Partner with Sales, Client Relationship, Products and other Insurance Services teams to structure competitive PEO proposals and resolve complex pricing and risk challenges.
  • Partner with Benefits Consulting to recommend benefit plan configurations, contribution strategies, and funding approaches to improve deal viability
  • Ensure consistent application of pricing, consulting, and benefits strategies across deals in scope.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of market-specific dynamics that impact growth and retention (e.g., competitive landscape, and customer expectations).
  • Monitor competitor pricing and benefit positioning; translate insights into practical guidance for Sales.
  • Produce and share a recurring market pulse (e.g., regulatory changes, rate trends, and segment shifts) with clear implications for growth and retention in conjunction with stakeholders.
  • Develop market-specific messaging and support broker/general agency enablement as needed.
  • Provide and or coordinate regular benefits and pricing training and consultation to Revenue teams in the assigned market.
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of pertinent information
  • Support automation through business intelligence
  • Maintain SOX compliant processes and documentation
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics or related field required or
  • Master's Degree in Business preferred

Experience Qualifications
  • Typically 8+ years in PEO, health benefits consulting, pricing/deal desk, or risk strategy required
  • Experience working directly with Sales and client-facing teams preferred
  • Prior exposure to complex or escalated cases within a multi-employer model preferred

Skills and Abilities
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office applications: Advanced in Excel intermediate in PowerPoint and Word
  • Working knowledge of SFDC, Tableau, SQL, PeopleSoft preferable
  • Demonstrated understanding of pricing and profitability principles, structures, and techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to apply complex financial, statistical, analytical, and critical thinking principles
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Strong personal leadership and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities

The preferred location for this role is New York, NY, and the salary range for this location is $107,500.00 to $201,625.00. All qualified external applicants will be considered for an in-office role, based in New York. All qualified internal candidates are encouraged to apply and consider relocation to New York and may be considered for remote hire at the company's discretion. The candidate's final salary offer will be based on the candidate's skills, education, work location and experience.

A candidate's compensation may also include bonuses consistent with TriNet's corporate bonus plan.
