The Opportunity:

Our client, an established industrial solutions provider, is seeking a Lead Valve Technician to join their team in Fort St. John, BC. This role is ideal for a hands-on mechanical specialist with expertise in ball, gate, choke, control, and ESD valves who excels at troubleshooting and working independently in the field and shop. As the technical lead, you will manage a mobile service unit-ensuring you are home every night-while mentoring assistant technicians and serving as a trusted partner to operators across the region.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Perform field servicing, maintenance, and repairs on Ball, Gate, Choke, ESD, and Control Valve assemblies.
  • Conduct in-house repairs on Manifold Valves, Actuators, ANSI Valves, and execute rigorous pressure testing.
  • Provide on-site and remote troubleshooting for clients, ensuring equipment operates safely and reliably.
  • Operate a mobile service unit to support customer sites while maintaining a local schedule that brings you home every night.
  • Guide, mentor, and oversee assistant technicians on service jobs and shop assignments.
  • Perform safe material handling, including hoisting, rigging, and forklift operations.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation (roughly one weekend every three weeks) and handle seasonal overtime during peak periods.
  • Strictly adhere to safety procedures, hazard assessments, and core operational standards.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

  • 2+ years of hands-on valve technician experience in the Oil & Gas sector. Proven expertise servicing Ball, Gate, Choke, Control, and ESD valves, alongside strong pressure testing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, troubleshoot on the fly, and mentor junior technical staff.
  • Valid Forklift Operations Ticket, as well as formal training and experience in Hoisting and Rigging (Small Crane Certification is an asset).
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract.
  • Must be local to the Fort St. John area or willing to relocate.

Compensation Range: $75,000 - $95,000
