Full Job Description

We are seeking a Presale Application Engineer to support and grow our Oasys software business in the Americas. Applying industry knowledge and software expertise, you will offer technical support, lead customer engagements, and drive presales activities. The role is based in Los Angeles to primarily serve the local West Coast market.

The Opportunity
  • You will work closely with our US Regional Manager (based in California), our Sales Development Representatives and our Product and Technical Support Teams (located in the USA, UK and India) to identify new customers and convert a pipeline of software sales opportunities.
  • You will engage with existing customers, take ownership of outstanding CAE issues and deliver the highest level of technical support.
  • You will perform presales presentations to new potential customers, understand the users' needs and articulate our products' value proposition to their engineering teams.
  • You will drive demand, adoption and the overall success of these products in the region and actively contribute to our growth targets.
  • You may also instruct application-focused training classes on our products.
  • You will collaborate closely with Presales/Application Representatives in other regions to coordinate activities, provide updates on product capabilities, share market intelligence and winning strategies.

Is this role right for you?
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Civil or related field.
  • 2 or more years of experience in a software environment as a Presales/Application Engineer or as a Finite Element Analyst within an engineering consultancy.
  • Sophisticated knowledge of Ansys/LS-DYNA required, applied to crash safety or other dynamic load cases.
  • Understanding of CAE workflow in automotive, aerospace and/or in civil engineering.
  • Coding skills using C++, Python and/or JavaScript is an asset.
  • Good communication, autonomy while working with the software management and development team.

Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Los Angeles is $90,000 to $110,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Los Angeles will differ.
