Role Description & Responsibilities We are seeking a Ph.D.-level Industry Process Expert to join our Pre-Sales team, supporting the BIOVIA portfolio. In this customer-facing role, you will work with prospective and existing customers to understand their scientific challenges and translate them into compelling scientific presentations, demonstrations, and workflows.
You will apply deep expertise in
small-molecule and biologics discovery, molecular modeling and simulation, protein and antibody engineering, and structure-based design. You will also demonstrate how emerging AI, machine learning, and automation technologies can be combined with established computational approaches to support modern drug discovery.
Customer and market feedback gathered through these engagements will also be shared with Product Management and R&D to help improve existing capabilities and guide future developments.
We are looking to fill this position on the East Coast.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Engage with customers to understand their scientific challenges, workflows, and requirements
- Translate customer needs into clear and compelling scientific presentations, demonstrations, and solution workflows
- Deliver technical presentations, workshops, and demonstrations to prospective and existing customers.
- Support the sales process by aligning BIOVIA scientific capabilities with customer objectives and research workflows
- Demonstrate advanced workflows for small-molecule drug discovery, including structure-based design, docking, virtual screening, molecular simulation, and molecular optimization
- Demonstrate advanced workflows for biologics discovery and design, including protein and antibody modeling, affinity maturation, developability, and protein-protein interactions
- Demonstrate how AI/ML, generative methods, and automation can complement physics-based and structure-based modeling approaches
- Maintain awareness of emerging scientific methods, technologies, and competitive approaches relevant to computational drug discovery
- Communicate customer feedback and unmet scientific needs to Product Management and R&D and contribute to the improvement of BIOVIA products and workflows
- Provide scientific leadership and best-practice sharing across the BIOVIA Pre-Sales organization
Qualifications - Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry, Biophysics, Structural Biology, Computer-Aided Drug Design, or a related scientific discipline
- Strong knowledge of molecular modeling, simulation, structural biology, or computational drug discovery
- Experience with small-molecule and/or biologics discovery workflows
- Experience in a customer-facing scientific, technical consulting, applications, or pre-sales role is a plus
- Ability to understand complex scientific problems and translate them into relevant computational approaches
- Strong scientific presentation and software demonstration skills
- Experience with AI/ML methods applied to molecular design, structural biology, or drug discovery is a plus
- Proficiency in Python and scientific computing workflows is a plus
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Salary Pay Transparency
Compensation for the role will be commensurate with experience. The total expected compensation range will be between $130000 and $170000, representing the base salary (or annualized salary based on estimated hourly compensation) and target bonus.
