This role supports technical proposal development, customer technical engagement, estimating support, design validation, and cross-functional coordination to ensure technically compliant, commercially aligned, and manufacturable solutions are developed during the quotation and bid phase.
  • This position serves as a senior technical contributor for pre-sales ETO activities and supports consistency, quality, responsiveness, standardization, and execution across electrical and mechanical design support functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pre-sales ETO engineering activities for LV switchboards, switchgear, power distribution equipment, and custom engineered assemblies.
  • Provide technical support for electrical and mechanical design development during the quotation and proposal phase.
  • Review customer specifications, one-line diagrams, technical requirements, and project documentation to ensure compliance with customer expectations and applicable standards.
  • Support engineered-to-order (ETO), configure-to-order (CTO), and standard platform opportunities across multiple customer segments.
  • Coordinate technical alignment between Sales, Applications Engineering, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Sourcing, and Project Management.
  • Ensure quotation designs align with UL 891, UL 1558, NEC, IEC, and customer specific requirements where applicable.
  • Support development of conceptual layouts, GA drawings, preliminary BOMs, control architectures, and technical submittal documentation.
  • Review and validate technical scope, component selections, short circuit ratings, bus sizing, protection schemes, metering requirements, and mechanical configurations.
  • Support development and maintenance of standard design practices, engineering templates, reusable design blocks, and technical processes to improve speed and consistency.
  • Participate in technical risk reviews during proposal development and identify potential manufacturing, compliance, cost, or schedule risks.
  • Coordinate with sourcing and supply chain teams on long lead item considerations, component availability, approved manufacturer lists, and alternate component strategies.
  • Support customer technical review meetings and provide technical clarification throughout the proposal process.
  • Support quotation schedules and proposal response timelines through effective prioritization and coordination.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quotation accuracy, cycle time reduction, BOM accuracy, standardization, and design efficiency.
  • Support development and maintenance of engineering KPIs, proposal tracking metrics, and technical documentation processes.
  • Provide technical mentoring and guidance to junior engineers and designers.
  • Support transition of awarded projects into execution teams through structured technical handoff processes.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in low voltage power distribution, switchgear, switchboard, or engineered electrical systems.
  • Strong understanding of LV power distribution systems, electrical protection, control systems, and mechanical enclosure design.
  • Strong knowledge of UL 891, UL 1558, NEC, and related industry standards.
  • Experience supporting data center, industrial, utility, or mission critical infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to review electrical one-lines, schematics, GA layouts, and BOM structures.
  • Experience working within ETO manufacturing environments.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Experience with ERP, PDM, and engineering documentation systems preferred.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with IFS, Oracle, Vault, AutoCAD, SEE Electrical, SolidWorks, or equivalent engineering systems.
  • Experience supporting large scale data center infrastructure projects.
