AES Indiana is in the process of developing and building several generation projects to meet increasing demand driven by data center growth in the service area of AES Indiana. The immediate focus will be the technical development of at least one CCGT power plant of approximately 650 MW with a second CCGT a strong possibility. There will be several other generation projects that will also be developed to bridge the growth of demand until the first CCGT comes online in 2033/2034.
The Pre-NTP Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for managing the development of the mechanical design of the projects. The duties will include working within Generation Development Team for the development of the Technical Specifications full development of the EPC Contracts for the projects while employing the technical expertise of Owner’s Engineers and other consultants. These development responsibilities will span from initial Feasibility Studies and technology selection to development and signature of the EPC Contracts. This role could develop into an mechanical engineering or Project Engineering Manager role for the execution of the projects as well
Responsibilities:
a. the review and selection of major equipment (gas turbines, steam turbines, rotating equipment)
b. the review of process flow diagrams and piping design
c. review of all mechanical interfaces for the projects (e.g. gas interconnection requirements, water interconnection requirements)
d. review of all steam, water, and chemical storage and delivery systems within the projects
e. review of all internal water treatment and disposal systems
f. review the overall performance of the projects and compliance with AES Indiana commercial expectations
Develop, review and collaborate with Owner’s Engineers and other SMEs on the mechanical design details in the Technical Specifications
Review of the mechanical design for operational consistency and standards within AES Indiana.
