Full Job Description
This exempt position is responsible for supporting the adoption and effective use of the Firm’s legal technology and innovation initiatives through training, enablement programs, and ongoing engagement with attorneys and professional staff. The Practice Technology Enablement Specialist plays an important role in translating new technologies, including generative AI tools and other advanced legal technology platforms—into practical workflows that improve attorney productivity and operational efficiency.

Working closely with the Manager of Practice Innovation and other members of the innovation and professional development teams, this role coordinates training initiatives and enablement efforts that help attorneys understand how to use innovation tools effectively within their daily work. The Practice Technology Enablement Specialist collaborates with internal stakeholders—including attorney champions, Attorney Development, IT, Knowledge and Innovation attorneys, Research & Knowledge Services, and practice group leaders—to support the rollout and adoption of new technologies. This role also collaborates with vendors and external partners to support the rollout, training, and adoption of new technologies.

A significant portion of the Firm’s innovation initiatives involve generative AI-enabled technologies. This role requires familiarity with generative AI tools and the ability to demonstrate their capabilities, explain their limitations, and assist attorneys in applying them appropriately within legal workflows.

Essential Duties:
  • Coordinate and support training programs for legal technology platforms, generative AI tools, automation solutions, and other innovation initiatives.

  • Assist in developing and delivering workshops, demonstrations, and hands-on training sessions for attorneys and professional staff.

  • Translate technology capabilities into practical examples and workflows that align with how attorneys perform their work.

  • Actively experiment with emerging legal technology and generative AI tools to develop practical demonstrations, training examples, and real-world use cases for attorneys.

  • Collaborate with internal partners—including Attorney Development, IT, Knowledge & Innovation attorneys, Research & Knowledge Services, and the innovation team—to support technology enablement initiatives.

  • Coordinate with vendors and external partners to support product demonstrations, training sessions, workshops, and other enablement activities.

  • Work with attorney champions and subject matter experts to promote adoption of innovation tools within practice groups.

  • Create and maintain e-learning, training materials, user guides, recorded demonstrations, and other enablement resources.

  • Provide onboarding support for attorneys and staff using innovation tools and technology platforms.

  • Track participation, adoption trends, and user feedback related to training initiatives.

  • Gather feedback from attorneys and staff regarding technology usability and communicate insights to the innovation team.

  • Assist in educating attorneys on responsible and effective use of generative AI technologies, including understanding limitations, verification practices, and appropriate use cases.

  • Support internal communications related to innovation initiatives and available technology solutions.

  • Collaborate with Manager of Practice Innovation to ensure training efforts align with pilot initiatives and product capabilities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Reporting Relationship:

The Practice Technology Enablement Specialist reports directly to the Manager of Practice Innovation.

Qualifications:

Experience/Knowledge:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in legal technology support, professional services training, knowledge management, technology enablement, or a related role.
  • Prior experience working in a law firm or professional services environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting or delivering training for technology platforms or workflow tools.
  • Familiarity with legal technology tools and emerging technologies, including generative AI platforms.

Skills:

  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage attorneys and professional staff effectively.
  • Strong ability to work in instructional design to create compelling training materials.
  • Ability to think “outside the box” to come up with innovative and engaging training sessions for attorneys.
  • Ability to translate technology capabilities into practical legal use cases.
  • Working knowledge of generative AI technologies and their strengths and limitations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders across the Firm, including attorneys, IT teams, and external vendors.
  • Service-oriented mindset focused on helping attorneys work more efficiently.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to supporting innovation initiatives.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent experience will be considered.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to move around the office up to 15% of the time to make copies, fax, file, etc. Remains stationary at least 85% of the time. This position operates computers and other office productivity machines (e.g., fax machine, copier, printer, etc.) on a regular basis. Occasionally required to move documents or files weighing up to 15 lbs. This position requires constant communication and exchange of information with the Firm attorneys, clients and staff. This position must be able to inspect and observe information on a computer screen at least 80% of the time.

  • Occasional extended hours beyond the normal schedule may be required to meet firm or client needs.
