Full Job Description
Key Responsibilities:

The Practice Operations Manager is the operational bridge between Frontier Direct's company goals and the day-to-day reality of clinical practice. As a Practice Operations Manager, you will manage daily clinic operations as well as the clinic team (APPs and MAs). You will ensure alignment with company goals and will problem-solve and execute strategies that drive clinic excellence. You will also partner with Medical Directors and will be involved in the engagement and coordination of various activities that deliver world-class member and employer engagement-with limited, intentional local flexibility where appropriate.

Team Structure

  • Direct reports include: APPs (Family Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants) and Medical Assistants - up to 4 of each approximately


People Management

  • On the ground, in-person presence and leadership that guides and drives accountability and results
  • Daily management of clinic operations
  • Lead APPs and MAs including hiring/training, clinic coverage, scheduling and day-to-day performance
  • Partner closely with Medical Directors on the team's clinical skills, including evaluations and development plans
  • Collaborate with HR to define hiring needs, gaps, retention risks and attrition concerns


Clinic Operations

  • Act as the bridge between the clinics and the business
  • Coordinate needs with Leadership - identify gaps, problem-solve and execute course correction plans as needed
  • Support and drive HR and other leadership initiatives
  • Partner with Medical Directors to drive the business side including ROI, Population Health, Complex Care Coordination and Care Transitions
  • Actively involved in engagement and coordination activities associated with achieving results


Clinic Excellence

  • Ensure follow through on all operations, including inventory, invoice reconciliation, licensing, patient relations)
  • Ensure all clinic standards are met and upheld at each clinic
  • Act as a brand advocate in the market to drive utilization to Frontier


Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare operations, practice/clinic management, and/or a similar leadership role
  • 2+ years of direct people leadership experience, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
  • Demonstrated experience managing clinical or clinical-support staff (e.g., APPs, MAs, or nurses) in a fast-paced clinic environment
  • Track record of driving operational metrics such as clinic coverage, patient throughput, and/or utilization
  • Comfortable working on-site daily and providing in-person, hands-on leadership
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify gaps and execute corrective action plans independently
  • Experience collaborating and communicating effectively with Medical Directors, HR, and company leadership
  • Experience with day-to-day clinic operational tasks: inventory management, invoice reconciliation, licensing/credentialing tracking, and patient relations
  • Proficiency with scheduling, EHR, or practice-management software
  • Ability to travel between clinic locations within an assigned market as needed or as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a startup or high-growth direct primary care (DPC) or value-based care organization
  • Experience partnering with Medical Directors on clinical development, evaluations, or quality initiatives
  • Familiarity with population health, complex care coordination, or care transitions programs
  • Background in ROI/business performance analysis for clinic-level operations
  • Experience supporting HR functions such as retention strategy, attrition analysis, or workforce planning
  • Prior experience managing multiple clinic sites or a multi-site "hub" structure
  • Experience acting as a brand ambassador or driving local market/community engagement to increase patient utilization
