ResponsibilitiesPA/NP - Ortho Surgery/Sports Medicine
South Bend Orthopaedics is seeking a Full-Time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our well-established and busy practice. The PA/NP would work in a 1-to-1 model with an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine. This position will share time between assisting in surgery (approximately two days a week) and running a clinic practice schedule (approximately two-three days a week). The PA/NP must have a strong desire to focus their clinical skills on general musculoskeletal acute and chronic injuries. The Physician Assistant and/or Nurse Practioner will join the advanced practitioner team and be required to take weekend call with your physician (~6 weekends per year).
Job Duties:- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic orthopedic conditions
- Work autonomously while maintaining a close working relationship with SBO Physicians.
- Provide exceptional medical care to patients with musculoskeletal conditions.
- Possess strong communication and display professionalism when working with patients, families, and the community.
- Demonstrate proficiency and comfort with all methods of patient electronic documentation and communication.
- First assist for surgical cases
- Rounding on inpatient cases
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:- Graduate of an accredited Program
- Current certification
- Active Indiana license with no restrictions
- Orthopedic experience preferred but not required.
