Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Support development and integration of the engine, engine hardware and electric drive units
- Contribute to the creation and execution of hardware DVP's for engines and electric drive units, including prototype through production sample planning for each stage of development.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams, suppliers, and vehicle testing groups to develop and execute comprehensive test plans that ensure powertrain hardware meets performance targets, including durability, NVH, safety, and emissions under all operating conditions.
- Support and author test procedures and publish as Scout engineering standard.
- Development of Scout powertrain requirements derived from vehicle-level specifications, followed by formal documentation of these requirements within the Scout systems.
- Contribute to a culture of engineering excellence, serving as a technical resource and subject matter contributor for powertrain systems and validation practices.
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, Michigan.
- This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- Demonstrated expertise in powertrain fundamentals, with hands-on experience in engine dynamometer development, validation, and calibration testing-including test specifications and setups.
- 7+ years of experience as a development and/or validation engineer supporting engine and drive unit projects from initial development through to production.
- Experienced in using industry-standard vehicle and dynamometer data acquisition and analysis tools such as INCA and Vector, along with hands-on expertise engine in engine instrumentation-including strain gauges and thermocouples-for both vehicle and test cell applications.
- Demonstrated ability to influence technical peers without direct authority.
- Strong interpersonal skills including accountability, self-motivation, problem solving, analytical thinking, succinct communication and ability to develop & mutually thrive in working relationships.
- Proven ability to work in a cross-functional environment.
- Direct experience with internal combustion engines, engine hardware and drive unit applications

Pay TransparencyThis is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $110,000.00 - $135,000.00
