OverviewAs a Power Systems Engineer III at EPE you will utilize extensive knowledge to execute and lead advanced power system studies for utilities and ISOs. This technical role will also work to create solutions, mentor junior staff, and support business development by contributing to request for proposals.
Responsibilities
How you can make an impact:
- Executes and oversees high-level bulk power system studies using various power systems software such as PSS/E, TARA, DSA Tools, and Aspen.
- Ensure the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives.
- Reviews and approves data analysis and interpretation of engineering, financial, and economic conditions and results, and subsequent business implications to client projects.
- Interact with clients to seek input and address their needs and concerns with respect to the projects under study.
- Leads and trains a team of engineers to independently execute power system analyses and transmission system planning studies.
- Perform generic and specialized studies of the power grid, such as generation interconnection studies, transmission system planning, remedial action evaluation, black-start studies, and sub-synchronous Resonance assessment.
- Develop mitigation plans for identified steady-state and dynamic constraints and system issues.
- Develop and review transmission planning study methodologies and processes.
- Lead process improvement efforts to enhance efficiency and support business development activities.

Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher with focus in Power Systems
- SPP or Midwest MISO region experience
- PSCAD or EMT study experience
