Position Overview: LCG is seeking a
Power Platform Solution Architect / Senior Developer an opportunity supporting the assessment, design, development, and modernization of enterprise business applications built on Microsoft Power Platform.
This role is ideal for a hands-on senior developer or architect who continues to actively build solutions while providing technical leadership and architectural guidance. The successful candidate will evaluate the current solution environment, design scalable architectures, and develop modern Power Platform applications that improve business processes and user experience.
The primary focus is Power Platform development, including Power Apps and Power Automate. Experience designing intuitive, user-centered interfaces is highly desired, as the architect will help deliver solutions that are both technically sound and easy for business users to adopt.
While familiarity with SharePoint Online is beneficial, it is considered a supporting technology rather than a primary requirement. Candidates with strong Power Platform expertise and modern application development experience are encouraged to apply regardless of their SharePoint depth.
The architect will work closely with business stakeholders, developers, and technical leadership to modernize existing applications, establish development standards, and provide practical architectural recommendations that can be implemented immediately by the development team.
Key ResponsibilitiesSolution Architecture & Technical Leadership- Assess the existing Microsoft Power Platform environment and identify opportunities for modernization and optimization.
- Develop current-state and future-state solution architectures that support scalability, maintainability, and long-term business objectives.
- Provide architectural guidance while remaining actively involved in application development.
- Review existing applications and recommend modernization strategies for legacy business solutions.
- Develop architecture diagrams, technical designs, implementation recommendations, and knowledge transfer documentation.
- Mentor developers and establish development standards and best practices.
Power Platform Development
- Design, develop, and enhance enterprise applications using Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven Apps).
- Design and implement business process automation using Power Automate.
- Build scalable business solutions using Dataverse, Microsoft 365, and related Microsoft technologies.
- Design secure data models, business rules, security roles, auditing strategies, and environment management.
- Build custom integrations using REST APIs, Microsoft Graph, custom connectors, and Azure services.
- Participate directly in coding, debugging, testing, and deployment activities throughout the engagement.
User Experience and Application Design
- Design modern, intuitive, and user-friendly business applications that improve productivity and user adoption.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate business processes into efficient application workflows.
- Apply UI/UX best practices when designing Power Apps interfaces.
- Improve application usability, accessibility, responsiveness, and overall user experience.
- Develop reusable components and design patterns that provide consistency across solutions.
AI and Intelligent Automation
- Design and implement AI-enabled using technologies such as:
- Microsoft Copilot Studio
- AI Builder
- Azure OpenAI
- Azure AI Services
- Power Platform Copilot capabilities
- Azure AI Search
- Power Automate AI integrations
- Integrate generative AI capabilities into Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Microsoft Teams, and enterprise applications.
- Design prompt patterns and grounding strategies that improve response quality, consistency, and relevance.
Integration and Modernization
- Define integration strategies between Power Platform, Microsoft 365, Azure services, SQL Server, Dataverse, and enterprise applications.
- Evaluate existing .NET applications and recommend appropriate modernization approaches.
- Design REST APIs, custom connectors, and integration services where appropriate.
- Recommend modernization approaches for legacy SharePoint, Nintex, InfoPath, or custom applications where applicable.
- Support SharePoint Online integrations when required, but Power Platform remains the primary technology focus.
Governance and Delivery
- Establish Power Platform governance, environment strategy, security, and application lifecycle management practices.
- Define development, testing, deployment, source control, and CI/CD standards.
- Review application quality, scalability, maintainability, and security.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, developers, and project leadership to ensure successful delivery.
Required Qualifications- 8+ years of enterprise application development experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on Power Platform development experience.
- Demonstrated experience serving as a Senior Developer, Technical Lead, Solution Architect, or Power Platform Architect.
- Strong hands-on coding experience with:
- Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven)
- Power Automate
- Dataverse
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 integrations.
- Experience designing enterprise Power Platform solutions from concept through implementation.
- Experience integrating Power Platform with REST APIs, Microsoft Graph, Azure services, and enterprise systems.
- Strong understanding of application architecture, security, authentication, and role-based access.
- Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, source control, and CI/CD.
- Ability to quickly evaluate existing environments and deliver practical architectural recommendations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with UI/UX design and building intuitive business applications.
- Experience designing responsive Power Apps that prioritize usability and accessibility.
- Experience with Dataverse architecture and data modeling.
- Experience integrating with Azure services.
- Experience with SQL Server and Microsoft Graph.
- Experience with React, JavaScript, TypeScript, or SPFx.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments.
- SharePoint Online experience is preferred but not required.
- Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert.
- Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate.
- Experience supporting federal, healthcare, HHS, or NIH environments.
Compensation and BenefitsThe projected compensation range for this position is $80,000 to $120,000 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
