About the Role
The Power Electronics Engineer will build the hardware between the generator shaft and the customer's bus. The machine is designed from a blank sheet around a high-voltage DC architecture, that architecture is one of our core bets.
You will design and integrate power conversion hardware: converters, protection, sensing, and the interfaces to controls. Some blocks you'll design yourself, schematic through layout, magnetics, thermal, and EMC. Others come from partners and suppliers, you'll write the specs, qualify the hardware, and make it work in our system. Then you'll take it to the test stand, run it against a real machine, and fix what breaks.
What We're Looking For
Experience designing power converters at real power levels: DC-DC, inverters, rectifiers, chargers. The EV industry is the natural home: traction inverters, 800 V platforms, onboard chargers, DC fast charging. Hands-on work with wide-bandgap semiconductors, SiC and GaN. You've taken at least one converter from schematic through layout, magnetics, thermal, and EMC to working hardware, production experience is a plus.
You're comfortable on the bench: bring-up, debug, instrumentation, and the discipline to find root cause instead of swapping parts until it works.
Nice to have: exposure to electric machines, and control systems experience from converter control loops to embedded platforms.
