Job Description

WSP is seeking a Substation Project Manager for our Power & Energy Management Team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

This position is an integral member of the project team working closely with Project Management, Production, and Project Controls within our Client's Project Management office. The Project Manager is responsible for supporting, organizing, and controlling project activities with little oversight. This is hybrid role requiring the selected candidate to work from the Client's office a minimum of 3 days per week.

Your Impact
  • Provide coordination, administrative, management, and analytic support for projects
  • Coordinate and communicate with all levels of management and disciplines throughout the project life cycle to support project cost and schedule objectives, both internally and within the client's systems
  • Oversee project budgets, review costs, and ensure adherence to planned budgets to maintain client satisfaction and financial success
  • Document project deliverables, including correspondence, project changes, and project files, ensuring thorough record-keeping
  • Be the face of WSP for the client. Develop and nurture strong, long-term relationships with client by understanding their needs, providing tailored solutions, and ensuring consistent communication to drive satisfaction and retention
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to support future opportunities
  • Includes client in-office presence 3+ days a week and periodic site visits
  • Adherence to proven processes and ability to develop new process to standardize procedures
  • Adhere to safety regulations and enforce project safety standards
  • Develop and foster effective strategies to engage project stakeholders at all levels, maintain effective relationships, and report on project progress
  • Provide verbal and/or written inputs to multi-disciplinary project teams and contribute to providing high level strategic advice to clients
  • Collaborate with professionals from a variety of disciplines to provide "trusted advisor" service and future ready solutions for clients.
Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • 7-10 years of relevant post education experience
  • 5+ years of substation physical and electrical design experience
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Strong attention to detail and technical writing skills
  • Highly proficient understanding of project delivery process within the Power Delivery/Utility industry and strong background and experience in project management
  • Advanced proficiency with analytical and organizational skills, with business acumen to bridge the business and project management
  • Advanced proficiency with interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively, persuasively, and tactfully with leadership, subcontractors, and employees at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and adjusting readily to the changing prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment
  • Works independently and provides guidance and leadership to mid-level to senior level team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC
  • Advanced proficiency with technical writing, office automation, relevant software, MS Office suite products (e.g., Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint), technology, spreadsheets, and PM tools
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including senior management, subcontractors, consultants, and company-wide staff, including those with whom no formal hierarchical relationship exits
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
  • Strong ability to quickly adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility to a variety of schedules and hours to meet project-specific needs
