Power BI Developer (Cognos Migration)Remote/Hybrid

Description:Diversified Systems is searching for a Power BI Developer to design, code, test, modify and debug computer software while supporting a priority project to migrate IBM Cognos reports to Microsoft Power BI and perform additional Power BI dashboard development work within the Enterprise Data Management and Analytics (EDMA) team. The consultant will assist with migrating approximately 400 Cognos reports with Oracle databases serving as the data source, and developing equivalent or enhanced Power BI dashboards in compliance with organizational data governance policies and ADA Title II requirements.
Responsibilities:- Migrate all production Cognos reports to Power BI by developing equivalent or enhanced dashboards following established EDMA development practices and framework.
- Develop additional Power BI dashboard and report development and maintenance as assigned.
- Provide production support for dashboards and reports including data analysis, testing, issue resolution and enhancements.
- Create consolidated Power BI usage reports and related metrics to support departmental and organizational needs.
- Work with internal and external customers, business analysts, and team leads to analyze and evaluate user business problems, confirm and substantiate functional, technical and ADA Title II accessibility designs in Power BI, and provide recommendations and develop solutions to meet requirements.
- Participate in Power BI workspace architecture, security architecture as well as versioning and documentation processes.
Requirements:- 3 years of extensive experience with Microsoft Power BI, in designing and building lists, crosstabs, graphs, scorecards, metrics, filters, prompts, standard reports, and dashboards required.
- 3 years of experience working with Microsoft Fabric required.
- 3 years of experience with IBM Cognos required.
- Expert problem-solving skills, including debugging skills, identifying sources of issues in unfamiliar code or systems, and the ability to recognize and solve recurring problems and errors required.
- Advanced experience working with Oracle DBMS, PL/SQL, SQL required.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Power BI, in designing and building lists, crosstabs, graphs, scorecards, metrics, filters, prompts, standard reports, and dashboards required.
- Experience with IBM Cognos required.
- Experience working with Microsoft Fabric required.
- Knowledge of current and emerging data management and analytics technologies required.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, balance priorities, and meet competing deadlines required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms, establish team and customer rapport and work collaboratively with others to achieve project objectives required.
- Knowledge of higher education data with experience in student information systems preferred highly desired.
